It's a 1986-88 H&R topper model 88, with a 18 inch barrel (original 32in, gonna buy another one eventually) chambered for 3inch 12 gauge shells.

OP here, what shells should I keep in the side saddle for general use? Right now I have (1) 3in buckshot, (1) pdx slug/buck round, and (2) #6 high brasses. I used to keep all pdx rounds but I found if I wanted to kill a squirrel or chicken hawk it was a little hard.

I found out the M1 carbine mag pouch hold six 12ga shells quit nicely. Just remove the belt snap so you don't scratch up the stock (unless you don't give shit)

I like the idea, but I would make a coupler of changes.
1.) A different light. That looks too new and shiny. Maybe just rough that one up s bit.
2.) I suggest having the zip tie closures on the bottom. I think that a hose clamp would look good there if you decide to ditch the zip ties.
3.) The sling looks strange. Maybe replace it with an earth-tone belt or something.

Actually bought it, opened it up, and the guy before me I guess had glued it to the gun with that brown engine epoxy stuff. It's pretty stout, but it wobbled to the sides just a hair, and the epoxy fixed it.
