Website: http://usmilitarymuseum.org/exhibits.php
Since /thg/ went down I decided to post the pics here.
Inside of their Iraq capture BMP-1. We were all astounded how fucking slav-squat cramped it is inside compared to how wide the vehicle looks from the outside.
>>29751237
how do slavs squat so proficiently. im skinny and have long legs. it just feels so uncomfortable.
For that anon who requested pics of breeches. I believe this is BMP breech. Honestly got a little too excited so pics are pretty jumbled

Elasticity of the calf muscles
Wider view of some of the outdoor exhibit. From left to right: Far left rear M60 Patton, MBT-70, M47 Patton, front far left some kinda Schutzenpanzer observation vehicle, Schutzenpanzer 42-1 cargo carrier, Experimental rocket turret XM800T
M60 breech. Unfortunately most of the breech blocks were missing/cut and most of the barrels were filled
MBT-70 not as bad off as I thought.
Looking inside the MBT-70 from the driver's hatch. Pretty shrekt on the inside tho
Electric breech of the MBT-70, just like the Sheridan. Surprisingly intact too.
Inside of the MBT-70 looking towards what I'm guessing is the autocannon's turret/compartment
Looking the opposite way
Looking at the rotating driver's position
Semirelated
>rest in peace sweet prince
Rear of the turret, bustle rack and i believe that small circular hatch with the handle is where the autoloader would fling stubs out. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Markings on the front upper glacis. Anyone know exactly what they mean? I assume they're from when poor MBT-70 was used for target practice. idk though
Some of the rear armor was missing, you can see into the engine compartment
Breech of M110A1 8 inch self propelled howitzer. Thing was massive, crew of 13, 200lb shells
Not sure if that anon will see this but someone asked if we could get a pic of sheridan's 152mm glory hole after I got back from the museum. But I realized we did take this pic. Hope this suffices.
Breech of an also fuckhuge 5 inch AA gun
Patton action shot
Breech of an M108 self propelled howitzer. Bonus bird's nest. There were also dead wasps and wasp nests in pretty much every vehicle
M108 rocket doors!
XM800T experimental turret. Not such a tight fit. Looked like a lot of water inside and hatches were closed. Kinda unfortunate, I really wanted to get in that cool driver's hatch. Sheridan's sliding driver's hatch was good enough though
M47 Pattons pads were pretty shredded
Also her breach was very filthy and greasy. Would not load with my shell
>>29751744
forgot pic. Also why the fuck are so many captchas select waffles?
M47 Patton's gunners station. Took pic because aluminum nobs were so cool and retro. I suppose for better tactile feedback, but they look very much like they fit the time period
They had an IS-2 gun, very clean breech
Closeup on mantlet cutout. Would not have wanted to be the guy who had to cut this
>>29751802
Indoor displays were legit too. Wayyy too much cool stuff and too little time. Here is their Davy Crocket nuclear recoilless rifle. Never thought I'd see one irl, was very excited
And a Nazi sword, now that's a bringback. Imagine being a GI who had one of these, weeew
Alright that's all I got. Sorry it's not so all-inclusive. Like I said I was pretty excited, waaaaaay more focused on climbing in/on/around these things than taking pics. Will try and go again next month in all honesty.

Op here and def. not a slav, just for fun. I don't get how people can't squat. You just squat.
>>29751518
Wat is this place?
>>29751570
Prototype vehicles such as the MBT-70 were usually constructed with mild steel rather than armor grade steel or composites, to save on pre-production costs.
>>29751939
Thanks anon, should've thought of that. Poor MBT-70 too pure for this world.

Google is your friend
http://www.mvtf.org/
It was the world's largest private tank collection owned by a millionaire outside silicon valley, had god tier shit like scud launcher, original working panther, and every fucking tank/apc you can name. Died in 2009 and the most of the vehciles were auctioned off in 2014. I helped a bit and got this patch and some other shit. I'll try to find pics and post them if i can
>>29751991
Damn that's wild. Is there anything still there? Yeah and plz post pics, sounds amazing
kind of depressing to see rare vehicles left to become rust
>>29752023
I doubt anything is still there. I cant find the pictures right off the bat but they might be on an old hdd or some shit. If this thread archives ill make a new one for you to post them

They found the panther in polish innawoods lake a couple years ago and it was 200% fucked up. They completely fixed it and it works and there was a documentary done about it somewhere

The gun was "deactivated" and "on loan" from dod but in case of emergency was to be reactivated and returned, so basically a working abrams turret
>>29753136
This was the owner's favorite until he died in 09. Works perfectly except for gun. Thats all for now but i have shittons more ill post tomorow if you guys want. Ask any questions too
>>29753152
Can attest to the amazingness of climbing in/on the sheridan. Most fun to screw around in. Nice size, aesthetically pleasing, driver's bottom escape hatch, funky cannon. Has it all
>>29753152
I want to know everything you know about that Sheridan. Every detail, every little thing. I love them.
>>29753218
I don't remember much about this one sadly. Littlefield loved the Sheridan and he got it from government surplus (?) and drove it around on the 4th of July and stuff. I have photos of many other rares so you guys can request away
>>29751237
Terrific stuff OP. Shame about the rotten state of the breeches, I was quite interested in seeing them up close.
I'm actually amazed at the eclecticism of what I imagined from your description to be a rather small museum, it seems to have a little bit of history from all places and eras of tanks.
I thank you greatly OP.
