All constitutional amendments can be changed with a large enough majority (3/4 of states and 2/3 of all house reps, afaik), though not removed; although heavily modifying each amendment would, in effect, "remove" the constitution you abide by today.

One thing to remember about gun control is they're all AstroTurf organisations pushed by the elite. the average gun owner is passionate about their rights. They'll go march and vote their beliefs. Aside from the political and media elites, gun control advocates are kind of lackluster about the whole thing. They kind of care, but their not willing to put any time and effort into the whole thing. So people don't donate to antigun causes at nearly the same level of pro gun donations.
