My friend is trying to sell me a M&P 15. It has a fancy Sight Works optic and a tricked out rail. It has been used at the range a few times but shows no signs of wear.
Is $800 a fair price?

Nope.

I didn't think so but I don't want to rude and jew-y
What would a reasonable offer be?

Anothing over $700 just seems like straight tripping madness to me no matter how nice the mods are.
A used rifle is a used rifle
Not op, but let's say you don't live in a free state.
How much would it be worth then?

$600 cash, no questions and no paperwork
Hate to straight hijack your thread, so I'll give my input, then ask my question. I would say to offer him $650-$680 and see what he says. You say he's your friend, so I don't imagine he'll get too annoyed if he finds this to be low.
What is a fair price to ask for a black Springfield TRP with three mags and maybe $45 worth of aftermarket parts?

>fancy sight works optic
Worthless.
>tricked out rail
No it isn't.
A used M&P15 is worth $500 at absolute most.
>>29723676
No. I got a used DD/BCM upper and new lower for less than 800$.
>>29723676
Customized=/=improved. M&Ps are way too cheap at retail for that to be remotely close to a good deal. Just my 2 cents though.

yeah, we get M&P-15s new for a little over $600 and nothing on his customized one is actually of any kind of good quality, so I'd say $500 max

You can get a new colt le6920 with no furniture for that price.
