So, im looking for a good recurve, something about 65-80lbs, what certain brands should i start looking at, they all claim they are the best, figured there had to be another /k/ommando who also loved bows who would know.

how much experience do you have with bows? because that's really fucking heavy. I don't even know of a production bow over 65lbs.

go to a store that sells archery shit and try out bows. buying a heavy bow just for the sake of it being heavy is a horrible idea. You'd probably be better suited getting something like 40-50lbs. I honestly can't think of anything off the shelf that's over 65 pounds.

Good entry bow, not too terribly expensive, and have interchangable limbs for your somehow magical 80 lb draw...
Mine is set to 55 lbs, and it'll punch a broadhead through an old chicago phonebook at 15 yds.

Most hunting places the min draw weight is like 30-40#. Generally you don't find recurv above like 65 for hunting. I am sure someone could make custom limbs for you though. It would be a PITA to draw
There is a huge difference between a high weight compound and a high weight recurv / longbow.
Looking up some quick googlefu it looks like anything above like 100# are generally categorized as warbows and are usually long bows

I honestly don't know too many people who can reliably pull a modern sized takedown recurve at 80lbs..
I have a hard enough time when I put the 65lb limbs on getting a full draw and holding it...
and I'm no weakling.

yeah, 55 lbs is more than enough with a recurve for nearly every application on north america, sans maybe bear..
But I don't trust going against any bear with anything less than 454 Casul..
