My girlfriends dad had this revolver for awhile now and I need help from anyone here to identify it for me. He doesn't have much to go on, only that he bought it many years from a friend. I think it maybe a Colt but it still looks odd to me.

ELG is belgian, that's all I know i'll try and find more info

The star is a proof mark and I assume the B is the model

Belgium pin fire revolver. It doesn't have a brand, elg was just the stamp to prove it passed inspection. Multiple makers made small pieces in their shops and sent it off to be finally made. They came in a lot of odd calibers so yeah... most gunshow "collectors" will offer you 100-150 for bad quality, but this one looks clean enough to be worth 200-275

looks like a boutique belgian (ELG) 1860-1870 open topped .450 adams BP revolver.

late 1800's to early 1900's and that's all I can find

Definitely not a pinfire.

Can't be an Adams, they were solid framed with a top strap.

Found what appears to be your gun, sans lanyard ring. No info beyond that it's a center fire .38 caliber and was made in the late 19th century. It's probably either .38 Colt (short or long) or .38 S&W. The ELG is not a manufacturer, but a Belgian proof mark.
