Just ordered one of these from KVAR, fixed stock model for $699. Got two 12 round magazines for it as well. Any /k/omrads have one of these things? Also, recommend me some furniture/chokes/muzzle devices.

Nice, $699 is a really good price. How much was shipping?

A 12ga AK has been on my want list for 6 years. I was 17 and had a hard on for the S12. But now I realize I have zero purpose for it and would likely never shoot it. I got to shoot one once and it wasn't as great as I'd thought it would be

I just got the sgm tactical choke set, and they work fine.
You can ignore the top line of cardboard(i know I was an idiot for not shooting the other blank side), that's my "fun" fiocchi ammo that almost turns into a 3/4oz wax slug through any choke.
The bottom is my actual clay ammo.

Here it is with the choke on.
I usually feed it that cheap fiocchi target load because it's so much fun to shoot things that are reasonably close. It'll chop down small trees and absolutely shred patches of weeds. I hit a racoon with it once and it's like a frangible slug, destroyed it's insides.
>>
The nice thing about Veprs is you don't need to do dick to them.
Furniture is fine. Get a choke if you want to slampig everything with birdshot. Muzzle brakes are large, heavy, and stupid.

And here's some patterning with that #1 flite control ammo that's toted as being such a good HD round.
Don't use chokes with it or it completely destroys the flitecontrol properties. It must drag on the wad so that the shot comes out and spreads more normal.

I've never used a brake on mine, but that thing looks heavy as hell. Even though I have an 8rd mag, I usually use the 5rd mags for everything because the gun is so much better balanced feeling.

Idk where you live anon, but I buy the majority of my funz on backpage. Here in AZ you can just meet people up and wheel and deal and buy a gun right off the street, (from a legal possessor, with a bill of sale of course). You find a lot of people who just need money or want something else, and I've gotten the best deals privately. I couldn't find a SCAR 17 online or at any gun shop locally, but I found one brand new in the box from a local guy who needed money for his kid's surgery. Pic related. Just come to AZ.

PSL mag pouch. It holds all my ammo and chokes etc. I sling it over a shoulder and hang it at my right rear and load mags with one hand as I walk around.
Pic related is an svd pouch(I need a new pic, badly), but don't buy one of those, they're smaller/tighter and not nearly as nice.

Objectively superior out of box.
Not as great for modding.
>>
>>29537666
It just werks, and should eat any normal load with no annoying gas adjustments.
Also, the mag system for the vepr is infinitely better and faster for mag changes than rock-in mags.
And the safety on the vepr is FAR superior to the regular ak safety.
>>
VEPR 12's are better than the Saigas. Best AK shotgun around. You got a good deal on it too.

You don't have to do much. If you want to change the stock it will be very expensive. If I were you I'd put a holosun on it (Decent red dot, I believe they have a small circle dot which is perfect for shotguns)
>>
>>29535981

How reliable are these? I'm looking for the most reliable mag-fed semi 12 gauge. Anything with more capacity than an M4 and just as reliable would be great for me, I'm not sure if that's realistic though.
>>
>>29538202
>How reliable are these?
I think I've had two failures since getting mine and using it extensively for skeet since mid 2013
I normally run this sucker so dirty that it's starting to have double muzzle flashes too. That's when the failures have happened.
It's also ran junk reload 12ga that jams up everyone else's guns. They just gave it to me counting on my gun to fail to eject etc etc with it. It didn't.

Dye it some shade of gray and black or just stick with orange with a magpul grip to match.
Get it sent to get it chopped

8 Round mag,
Literally instructs you to make the magazine fit for your shotgun.

Replacement for standard lower hand guard, Looks near standard.
Also 8 round magazines on this website is from the factory.

Break and optics?

Also, as a general question to anyone, what can I do about my stock? I want a folding stock but mine seems to be fixed.
>>
>>29537666
I dumped my S12 mid project for a Vepr - already had converted it, needed more shit. It always needed more shit - drilling gas holes, new 8 position gas reg's, polishing everywhere, etc etc etc the S12 is a gun you'll spend 2k on after the fact to achieve what a Vepr 12 does out of the box
The Vepr is practically perfect out of the box, function wise.
Even if you get one that hiccups on light loads out of the box, clean it, dump a few boxes of slugs/00 buck/3" and 9.5/10 times it will run like a champ, and for the rare few that still may have issues, 30 seconds of some polishing with a dremel will smooth up the action considerably.

The only thing I personally would modify in the future if it becomes available is the addition of a long rail that goes past the FSB, or otherwise just SBS it.

Magpul Zhukov-S

There are several AR buffer tube side folding options

East German and Polish wire sidefolders mount on a fixed stock backing and are extremely compact but don't offer much in the way of cheekweld and will probably need padding - but they are cheap and worth a look

ACE folding AK stock - comes in different lengths, has plenty of accessory options

None of those will work on the Vepr with the fixed tubular stock, without replacing the rear trunnion.
Or welding on a plate to the rear of the receiver, after punching out the 2 pins holding the stock in place.

>the plate

http://www.carolinashooterssupply.com/category_s/1818.htm Has a lot of good stuff for the vepr. I got the monster break for the lulz, but it does help infinitely for recoil. Also got the metal top rail replacement and a couple of internals that were probably pointless. All in all one of my favorite funs to shoot. And being in commiefornia it silences the range.
