A barrel that short will really shit on .308 ballistics even if you work up some loads with a powder and bullet combination that compensates for it a little.

average velocity of 2420 shooting 175 grain matchkings. at 500 yards youre still at 1655 fps with 1065 ft/lbs of energy. supersonic out to 900.

From what I've read. Milfags loved the darpa xm3. 18.5 barrel though. You definitely dont want a muzzle break on a 16 inch barrel by the way.

Yeah. First time I took my AR out with my new brake, my buddy had to stop shooting and stand behind me.

First time I had ever shot with a muzzle brake; before I had a flash hider and the difference in recoil reduction is insane, but so is the increase in volume.

Dont have a pic on my PC, but the brake is a PWS M4-72. Crazy brake, really.
