Special request /k/. I'm shooting a movie for uni tomorrow and I have this cheap ass dollar store gun. To be honest, I think it looks like a pretty legit gun.
What's the closest model you can identify this as so I can reference it to modify and paint it?

Beretta 84 Cheetah. 13 shot blowback .380 ACP pistol primarily used by civilians. Currently out of production.
Can resemble the Beretta 92 at a glance, a bigger 15shot 9x19mm pistol commonly used by civilians, police and military in the United States, Italy and several other countries.

Just paint it flat black to take that cheap plastic shine off it. Really all that's required.

This.
Even hollywood uses rubber castings of guns painted flat black and most people never notice they arent real. Any scene not firing a blank are 99% of the time a rubber dummy gun. Make sure its not got an orange tip, spray it black, and if you have a drill bit index handy take one closest to the guns original caliber and drill the barrel out slightly if its not already.

Also, i forgot. Before painting make sure you use modeling putty or epoxy to seal up the screw holes, give the gun a light sanding, then paint it. Most paints dont like to stick to slick plastic, but a very light sanding can rough up the plastic and the paint will coat well.
