I only buy certified good weapons from trustworthy companies, so do Century and American Tactical make good and reliable guns? I want to add 7.62x39 to my collection and I don't have much money. Should I just save up more and buy a milsurp AK?

>>29506768
he isn't quoting anything either
>>
>>29506712

Don't buy anything century unless it's a WASR, don't buy anything American tactical. If you want a quality AK get an arsenal or DDI
>>
>>29506712
Just buy an Arsenal SAM7SF. It will outlast you and your kids.

failing that, if you a cheapass, a WASR

no Serbshit.
>>
>>29506842
>no Serbshit.

amen. Fuck paps
>>
>>29506892
why are paps bad?
>>
I know people L-O-V-E to shit on Century, but they are the #1 importer and give us variety. I love my SAR-1 and C308.

ATI, on the other hand, is a lot of Turk and Filipino stuff. Make sure it works and be aggressive with the warranty stuff.
>>
>>29506712
Buy a WASR. Don't buy American made AKs.
>>
>>29506712

Quality from least to greatest

WASR
DDI = Arsenal

Arsenal was once the cream of the crop, but there have been a lot of reports coming in the last year about canted sights and shoddy worksmanship. Their customer service is also pretty poor and their finish is awful.

Still though, you get an imported rifle with a CHF barrel and AK-100 style side folding stock.

DDI has AMAZING customer service, finishes all of their rifles with KG Gunkote, has the best price to quality ratio, and uses like-new hungarian parts. They are about the same accuracy wise as the Arsenal.

DDI is starting to transition to all-American AKs so we'll see how they turn out.

Honestly, I'd recommend DDI.

This guy. He nailed it.

Come on /k/ in 2014, if you dare post a WASR everyone shits on you, telling you how shitty it is.

Fast forward to 2016 and it /k/ general pop holds it up next to a fuckn norinco. And begins shitting on the RAS47.

Why do we shit on it? Because AKOU made a test where they beat the fuck out of it and do shit that no one does to their guns, and then shoots the fuck out of it non stop only adding lube.

Browse other, less popular youtube channels and you'll see that yes, some RAS47's are having issues, but some have shot 5k+ rds with no problem.

Remember early wasrs /k/? littered with front sight posts being slanted, gas tubes all fudged up, and trigger issues galore, but that's all passed now that there's a new rifle out.

I have not bought a RAS47 yet, however, from the issue i've gathered is this- stay away from serial numbers in the 52xxx, 53xxx, and 55xxx, also look for either an engraved "X", "T", or "+" on the bolt. Those letters stand for the NEW treated, properly heated bolts. If your RAS47 doesn't have one of those, dont freak the fuck out, just have fun with it until it doesn't go boom, and buy yourself another bolt. Like any firearm though, inspect the guts when you clean it. If something doesnt look right, replace it.

I put 740 rounds through an Io ak and I've had no malfunctions, American made, 450$ on sale new, polymer furniture
>>
>>29508190

For the price of the RAS47, it cuts too many corners and lacks basic (even if unneeded) features to be considered a decent firearm.

You should go WASR or DDI.
>>
So what about Romanian AK around 700?
>>
>>29508244
Good ak but kind of high
>>
>>29508241
The Atlantic WASR?
>>
>>29508257
So a better price is around 5-600?

WASRs never, ever had shifting trunnions, mushrooming hammers, Korean cast components, or unchromed barrels.
>>
>>29508264

The WASR-10 is a Romanian AK, Atlantic is just a retailer that sells them.

Atlantic is arguably the best place to buy from though as they inspect them (Quality Control) before the sale to make sure they function and have no outstanding issues.

Sure, I'll agree they didn't have that. But they did have just as many issues. The chrome/unchromed barrel pissing contest isn't one im about to have over the interwebs.
>>
>>29508274
Yeah, are you talking about a WASR?
Because those are 600 new

Mmm, nah, they never managed to have anything to match even one of the number of serious flaws the RAS shat out into the AK market. Although I guess I.O. feels nice having company now.
>>
>>29508755
Yes I'm on the fence about an AK. According to >>29508290 Atlantic is best option. LGS in my area doesn't deal in milsurp.
>>
>>29508773
Where you at?
If you're near Lexington ky buds has wasr's for 600 something and io aks for 550
>>
>>29508230
Doesn't matter when you only shoot a couple hundred rounds a year at soda cans. Unless you're a paranoid schizophrenic or a soldier that's the only thing you should worry about doing with your guns.
>>
>>29509136

>IO AKs

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO
>>
>>29509168
>intentionally buying a shitty product because you don't think that you "need" superior performance

you shouldn't use a semi-auto, a bolt action is just as good for shooting soda cans :^)
