My Dad doesn't like guns, but years ago, before I was born, a patient gave him a gun as a gift (patient owned a gun store).

When I started showing interest in guns, Dad reluctantly pulled it out.

It was a Smith and Wesson built for a Brittish WW2 contract, also chambered in 38s&w.

I look back with great cringe when I think about how many 38 specials we put through it because we didn't know what we were doing.

Still have it, and I occasionally pick up a box of correct ammo to shoot it, but it's expensive.
