Hey guys, so I picked up this shotgun recently
Got a good deal on it
I plan on cutting the barrel down to 18.5" because of the mild buldge at the end of the left barrel
The other issue is: the left firing pin does not protrude, it appears to have snapped off
Now I know they can be replaced but I am not 100% sure where to find a replacement
Any ideas? (more pics incoming)

you fucked up
>>
Well, that's all going to depend on what the make/model is.

First step is always to call the manufacturer.

Remember to use a steel square when you're squaring up the newly cut muzzle.

Also consider steelstik to plug the hole in the rib channel.

I will see if I can get a good pic

ERA/FIA are the same as Stoeger.
These replacement pins should be compatible with your gun.

the fuck is everyone bitching about?
if he properly does the mod it should be fine.
anon, i'd recommend cutting the barrel to 19" just so you have that extra half inch of clearance to keep the dog shooters away.
>>
>>29494585
Shotgun barrel limit is 18", not 18.5". You see 18.5" so often because of what you just described.
>>
>>29494370
you could cut the barrel down and get them threaded for chokes.
>>
>>29494552
oh wow, that's exactly the help I was hoping for

I recently bought a bubba fucked Ithaca SKB Model 100 for $100 in trade. The barrels were improperly shortened to 20" and the stock hacked down to a PG, I can't decide if I should file for a stamp and make it a Road Warrior special or cut the barrels down to 18.5" and replace the stock and tap it for chokes for a practical coach gun. It is a very well made double gun it would be a shame to make it something impractical, but I have been looking for an excuse to cut up a leather jacket too.
>>
OP here
The gun i bought has some pretty rough machining in the action
I have to figure out how to pull this apart and put it back
(I mean I know its pins but...)
>>
>>29495146
Touch up the contact points with some automotive sandpaper (1000+ grit) to smooth them out.
What are you having trouble with?

oh, also the safety wasn't engaging the forward (right) trigger
the piece of metal on the rear of the trigger had bent
>>
>>29495475
Again, I'd call stoeger up and explain it to them. They should be able to send you a new trigger.
>>
>>29495500
but it's not a stoeger?
>>
>>29495537
They're identical guns.
Meaning you'll have to pay for new parts but they're available.
>>
>>29495558
any idea what model it's based on?
I see a lot of different bits in these stoeger ones
>>
>>29495583
Should be equivalent to the uplander.

So how much did you put into this shotty, OP? I recently got myself a double gun project too; late 40's/early 50's Stevens 5100 for $100.

Just did this with a N.R. Davis HY-Power. I picked up for $90 it's hammerless and in fairly good shape. I want to make/purchase a leather stock shell holder and use it for hiking/camping
