Hello /k/, First time poster here. I started getting into building ARs and I thought building a AR10 would be cool. As I was looking at pictures of AR10s, I saw pic releated and I though it was pretty cool. I was wondering if I would be able to build a AR10 that looks like that. Is it possible?

You won't be able to find an upper/bcg that has that upper changing handle, unfortunately.

Otherwise yes

thanks

It would be difficult to build a true AR10, the parts are rare, almost unicorn tier.

You'd be better off just building an AR with commercially made parts in .308/7.62.

I've built an AR10 for around 700 bucks.

You may have to go with a detachable carry handle but it can be done. The hardest part will be the handguards but some do people make those even though they can be hard to find.
>>
Check this site out: http://www.nodakspud.com/AR%20Lowers.htm

A lot of the parts are for AR15s, but don't fret.

Some AR10 platforms like the PA10 have a lot of AR15 compatibility. As long as you use an AR10 upper/lower you can probably adopt the NDS-43 Brown "Prototype" Handguards

Building an exact clone of the AI-made Sudanese-pattern AR10 would be very difficult. There used to be some parts kits available, but no-one at present makes an upper and lower receiver that is a reproduction of that original AR10 pattern. In 2004 Modern ArmaLite made a 50th Anniversary version of their AR10B that was styled to look like the original AR10, but used their modern AR10 pattern.

Nodak spud makes a trigger charging handle. In fact I'm building one but in .50 beo

I love these AR-10s. It's a shame nodak spud doesn't make any uppers/lowers for it, even if it would be a Frankenstein AR.

I'll bump with my AR-10 pic collection

Buy a modern AR-10 if you want to shoot it a lot. You will have trouble finding parts if you buy an original one.

A result of a prototype aluminum/tungsten barrel. It's okay for shit like 22lr but full auto battle rifle proved too much
>>
Anyone know where one can find a fixed carry handle upper? Don't care if doesn't have the trigger charge handle config.
>>
>>29480158
You'll need to find a used one. Only the early AR-10B's that armalite made have a fixed carrying handle
>>
>>29478307
can't a company just COPY this rifle and make it?? is it that hard

I hate to buy the 2004 armalite 50th anniversary which uses modern AR10 pattern??

so hard to copy the old pattern and sell it?

Retro AR market is picking up, but it's still relatively small.

Hey guys, where is a good place to buy a decrnt bcg/charging handle combo for .308 ar?
I've heard you should buy both these items from the same manufacturer.

Another question, if you'll permit: where is a good place to buy a dpms upper receiver minus the bcg and ch and barrel (not a complete upper).
Unless you think I should buy a complete upper for some reason?
I'd just be wasting money on the m4 style handguards and carry handle/rear sight which I plan on not using anyway.

Help me /k/. I'm an idiot.
