I have only owned a Ruger (pos) 9mm before and decided to go with this Beretta. Is it /k/ approved?
>>
>>29467698

They're nice guns. Only downside is those shit stock grips, they feel terrible in your hands. change them out and it is 10/10
>>
>>29467698
I'm not a fan of DA/SA or slide mounted safeties or aluminum frames or those fat grips, but Beretta makes a quality product.
>>
>>29467704
Thanks, good to know. I like how the grip feels. It's nice and heavy and seems to be built really well.
>>
Parents owned some berettas before and they sucked... But those were personal weapons. Family that was in the military loved the M9. Perhaps they use different stuff for the mil spec handguns. Just my two cents
>>
>>29467698
I like them but I know that some anons here complain about the safety being on the slide. If that dose not bug you then I cant think of any reason not to recommend it.
>>
>>29467734
What was wrong with them? I had done some research and they can fire some 30,000 rounds during military testing without fucking up.
>>
>>29467698

They are a fine gun with a fine service record with the military and police forces.

Any negative stigma towards the gun come from the slide mounted safety which apparently has caused the deaths of countless people (it hasn't) and the ultimate source of any contention is that the Baretta replaced the 1911.

The same "M16 is a piece of shit" bullshit that came from people "losing" their precious M14 is why the Baretta is seen as a bad handgun because it replaced the one true handgun of our lord and savior John Browning.

Its a fine handgun.
>>
I have heard that some people don't like how heavy it is, but the weight actually helps me keep a steadier aim.
>>
>>29467698
>Is it /k/ approved?
Wouldn't worry about that, this board is a distillation of internet hearsay and jealous rage.

But it's a fine gun, in the military they have a reputation for problems (due to abuse/neglect) but for a civilian owner I don't think anything is more reliable.

I used to be into them but I moved on to 1911s.
>>
>>29467698
I hate them, but they are great pistols.
>>
>>29467698
They're good pistols. If anything /k/ would just tell you to get the 92G and replace the grips, but the 92 in any form is an excellent product.
>>
Hogue grips and these pistols fit like a glove. They're beautiful, which is also a huge plus. 18 rounds mec gar mags. Love them
>>
I owned one for a while. The grip and magwell are fuck huge in my hands. Other than that, it was a find pistol.

/k/ will sperg out over the slide safety, but it didn't bother me.

I felt up the m9a3, which is a little more streamlined. I loved it, but if im gonna spend $1000+ on a handgun, I'll buy a USP tactical 9mm.
>>
>>29467698
I would say you made a good choice. The 92 that I carried was a very good gun. I now carry a Glock 19, but I still serve at the altar of John Moses Browning.
>>
It's probably one of the most aesthetically pleasing guns I've ever seen.
>>
>>29468117
What made you choose the Glock 19? It was between the Glock and the Beretta when I made the purchase.
>>
>>29468145
I'm pretty sure its because you can customize the glock more.

When you run out of ammo, its heavy enough to blugeon somebody

>>
>>29469796
the top 4 are all steel construction
the 92 and the sig have alloy frames
the 92 almost weighs as much as an all steel gun even with the alloy frame

i think it's funny how most owners who complain about the factory grips swap them for the wood replacements which don't improve the grip in any way, but they do make the gun look sexier.
>>
>>29469823
I'm pretty sure the alloy is like 95% steel
because it's heavy as the all steels and about as hard

>>29469892
yeah I swapped for wood just cuz they're pretty. Stock grips were actually nice imo, though

You bet your ass it is. I fucking love mine.

Debating whether or not to switch to Hogue grips. I have a rubberized grip on my AK that I don't really like and I don't want the same to happen to my 92

I've had Hogue grips on my M9 before but I don't have grizzly hands. They were way too fucking big. I sold them.
>>
>>29469923
>I'm pretty sure the alloy is like 95% steel
>because it's heavy as the all steels and about as hard
yeah no
a steel framed 92 is 1200 grams unloaded
they do make all steel berretas but they tend to be collectables or limited runs only

How big are "grizzly hands" and do mine qualify?

who makes grips for a vertec?

i've found like one place, and they don't ship international.
>>
>>29470157
Yeah if your fingers go that far around the grip they're pretty big.
>>
>>29467698
They're cool, parts everywhere, cheap mags, reliable. Only things I don't like:

1. FUCKING HUGE. JESUS.
2. Really heavy, but that's only bad if you want to carry it around.
3. Slide mounted safety sucks.

otherwise fun guns. Friend has one, and I kinda want one.

I love mine. I have a 92G so it's a decocker only, not a safety. The double action pull on it is long but smooth and the single action on mine is great. Honestly, it's probably the most accurate pistol I've ever shot. Get some 18 round Mecgar mags for it and you're good to go for a range/home defense pistol. I personally think it's a little too big to CC but I've done that as well just fine
>>
>>29470236
I carry my 92A1 daily concealed. Do you work in an office or something?
>>
>>29467723
Big fan of Berettas here. That looks like me talking about Glocks. "I think they are horrible because 1. 2. 3. 4. ... But they make good guns."
>>
>>29470236
Me and you have different tastes is safety locations, I don't like frame safeties after I bumped one on at the range drawing.
>>
>>29467698
Buy hogue front wrap grips

The 92fs and m9 are awesome full size duty pistols/range guns.
>>
>>29468221
Yeah you get get another barrel, a slide, a sight, and a bunch of fucking plastic!
>>
>>29470049
I wear medium gloves and hogue grips feel like a fleshlight for my hand. You're either a septupleturbomanlet9000 or a woman.
>>
>>29467698
I love them, the trigger on mine is smooth and delightful, the grip has an elegant fit, and it never jams.
Mine's a 92SB though, produced in '84.
It's all metal except for the wooden grips.
It's got the original barrel and mag, still runs great.
I've never used a brand new Beretta, bnut I heard the triggers are a bit stiff, but it's super easy and cheap to buy an aftermarket D-spring and put it in your gun for a great trigger pull.
