It's not illegal. You'd have to register a 14.5" AR as an SBR. Once that gets approved, you are well within your rights to own it. There's also an easy workaround where you pin a muzzle device to the barrel that, technically, brings it to 16". My carbine is a 14.5" mid-length with a pinned A2 FH.

I've got a Norinco A1 coming in soon, and I was thinking of sticking a TA33 on the carry handle. Good set-up?
I've had 14.5" and 16" guns, but they aren't really my thing, but every 20" I've handled felt "correct" for me.
I know the cheek-weld isn't ideal for most, but I've handled an AR with a carry-handle mounted ACOG (2x model) and it was perfect for me.

That's one of the ones I've considered. I think with something like a flash can it might work out, but it would be less compact overall and a decent chunk of change. For now I'll probably spend my money on ammo and see if I get used to what I have.

with the glock ones you have to get a dedicated upper and theres a wire you need to adjust to get it to function properly
