I'm still in application stage of my permit, but as soon as I get it I plan on carrying every single place I legally can, including church.
A couple other members, including both my parents and the cool motorcycle deacon also carry, and the pastor's family (which is like 50% of the church) are hasguns, so it shouldn't be a big deal.

Even when I went to take my class part, it was held at another church in the area and a bunch of their members were taking it the same day.

Charleston area reporting.

Our area churches have seen a huge increase in church security after the AME shooting.

The Charleston County Sheriff's Dept holds one day seminars on church security strategies, and a few months ago, one of the biggest Mega-Churches (SeaCoast if any local's care) hosted a 3-day "Sheep Dog" Seminar with Dave Grossman.

I have met a ton of people at the range recently who are on the "security team" of their local church, and at least some of them are trying to get better training and up their skills.

Anyway, most of the folks I've talked to require permission from the church to carry, but some of the folks on the security teams know members of the congregation who are probably carrying anyway, but are "good guys", so they don't say much, other than invite them to volunteer on security team.
