NORTH Texas though, south is all Mexicans, liberals, and cousin-fuckers.

Lots of land, gun laws can't be beat, temperate weather, and really cheap cost of living. Dallas is particularly great.

Ohio seems to be pretty close. I'm in the north east, and I'm about a 45 minute drive from Cleveland, but far enough out where I can buy 50 acres of land for pretty cheap no problem. The weather here sucks and you can only use shotguns and straight-walled cartridges (45-70, 30-30 ect.) but other than that its bretty good.

Seriously though. Now that Texas has open carry, conceal carry at universities and a rock solid castle doctrine, it's on par with all but the constitutional carry states. And only just behind those.

Factor in climate, cost of living and employment opportunities and its gotta be top three.

Josephine County, Oregon. I know you said they're disqualified, but they have no police funding and voters refuse to allow them to raise taxes. Sheriff's office can only afford to patrol 8 hours a day 5 days a week and only go out on life threatening calls. OSP is the main law enforcement in the area but their presence is very limited as well. It's essentially anarchy as citizens have taken to the streets in armed and unarmed patrols to respond to non-life threatening calls that the JoCo Sheriff's Office won't take. Just don't speed there as they'll pull you over for anything just to get a little bit of traffic ticket money.

WYbro, transplant from the coasts. Couldn't be happier.

>Gun Laws
constitutional carry, no state laws, literally everyone you meet has a gun. literally. as in i have not met a person here that does not own a gun.

>land
How much land do you need? We have lots (pun intended).

>shooting/hunting
BLM rifle range like 10 min from my house

>cost of living
depends. lots of areas have limited housing. much of wy is based on resource extraction. right now, the economy is down. if you time it right you could get a good deal. Food is average, gas is average, lowest electricity rates in the nation. and no COMMUNIST state income tax

>quality of towns/cities

I live in what would be considered a small town anywhere else, but it's in the top 10 in WY, and a county seat. I feel i have everything i need here. A steady job, multiple, grocery stores (the luxury!), a movie theater, a post office, several bars, and a subway. Everything else I can get on Amazon.
>>
>>29395125

>>
Based AZ.

No permit to carry, no registration, not even a "totally not a database" like PA has, private sales with no ffl.

I'm the poorest of poorfags and even I could afford to buy an acre off route 66, I'll be moving as soon as I save a few $k to build on it. Whats your excuse?
>>
>>29394166
Don't come to San Francisco.
It's a cool but expensive place to visit, eat, drink, wine and dine. Some pretty neat places to visit.

But unless you want to live in the seedy places or share rent with 3 other people, you ain't gonna be affording much here.

The city BRAGS about not issuing ccw, the last few years, there were only 1 permit issued, and that was to a lawyer who was close friends with the then-sheriff. Ed Lee won't do shit unless it profits him. Willie Brown is still a major power player here. And let's not forget Leeland Yee, wait, no, EVERYONE forgot the US Senator who got caught agreeing to gun run for money in an FBI sting. So the politics here is pure fucking toxic.

The local politician was patting themselves on the back for closing the last gun store in the city last year, because it is now "safer", even though no guns bought from said store were ever used in a crime. Nevermind it takes only 20 minutes to drive south to the next available gun store in the county next to ours. Nevermind all the recent high profile shootins in the city are at fault of the police or government themselves.

The homeless problem is horrible. All the self fellating progressives in Liberal Central City can't even solve the rampant homeless crisis here. It's too politically incorrect to be stronghanded and it doesn't fucking help when other cities just bus all their mentally unstable people here. Legitimately homeless folks, people who are seriously just down on their luck or outright fucked in life are not the problem.
It's the mentally unstable and drug addled fucks that are the main problem, and mainly the very aggressive ones here. And the cops don't do shit, at most they'll lock em up for a day or two and then let them back on to the streets.

Interested to hear more about what you're doing with this, largely because I want to do exactly the same thing and will probably be able to afford it in the next few years. You have enough room to shoot on the property? What are the utilities like? (A lot of cheap land in Arizona with no water, even some with an unreasonably deep water table.). Distance from neighbors? You have a job there? Are we talking full Ian https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUIPfkxZaO8? Etc.

Based Montana, or Northern Florida. I live in the latter. Gunshine state is great. Things are relatively cheap, land isn't too expensive, neither is liquor or food. Ammo is hit or miss, depending on who you buy from, and west end of the state is filled to the brim with gun stores, and Alabama is right there as well. Also, we're trying to get constitutional carry reinstated.

I'm not overly bothered by LePage; I'm worried about who our next governor will be. Given what he's done to conservatives' image and what Cutler has done to independents' image in our state, it's essentially guaranteed to be some libtard, potentially far worse than Hassan. Our only hope is that there will be another initiative that draws the hicks out of the woodwork (like the bear referendum in 2014) and swings the vote to the right. If the ranked-choice initiative passes, it'll be a different situation altogether, of course.

you're saying all those millions of people came to your state in particular?
All the people whining about califag migration need to understand that if all it takes is a fraction of your state's population to eternally cuck the rest of you, you got problems bigger than just transplants coming in.
You got your own shifting values and culture to worry about. If all it took for some outsiders to come in and begin assfucking your entire fucking state.

And what are you going to do about it? Whine some more? That won't stop all the califags from swarming into your buttholes.

Miller G&A on Telshor, Stryker's on Valley. I like the guys at Miller more Brian is the best there, Stryker's has better prices on magazines, Joe is the best there (talks pretty fast but knows his stuff).

Recently got my Mark 23 and G19 Semper Fi at Miller, put money down on a G43 today at Stryker's. Also put some TFX sights on the 19 today at Miller. You buy the sights from their store and they'll install them for free

DAM ammo can be a little fudd but they're pretty good folks and who you go to for reloading, they're currently moving their store. Gonna open in beginning of April in a building in front of where the old waterpark (Kahuna's) used to be

>Lots of land
You have little to no public land. I'm not even from Arizona, but they kick your ass in terms of being a gun-loving state six ways to Sunday. Hell, a lot of states do.

Texas is only mediocre when it comes to gun laws and culture. Better than some, but far from the best.

>all amenities of large city
You can find that in most places as long as you're willing to live near a population center.
>still lots of space in surrounding counties
Privately owned land that you can't legally shoot on or be on without the owner's permission.
>decent people
Texans are some of the most insufferable people on the planet. If you weren't born there, then you're a yank and not a real Texan so you'll never be able to understand their deep and intricate culture.

Nevada reporting in. Our gun laws are pretty baller and we have loads of ok LGSs and shooting ranges, and literally endless public land to use (just be courteous and haul your shit out). If you want to ski theres basically nowhere you can live in nevada thats 12 hours from good skiing. Vegas has many spots within 6 hours. Reno has closer stuff because of its location.

Id recomend vegas but im partial to the 24 hr lifestyle. I like being able to go out to the desert to shoot and camp then get back at 10pm and still have options to eat out.

Also, we are a very low tax state, and low cost of living despite higher than normal fuel prices.

Also feel free to ask any questions about this GOAT state. Can always use more Aussies than want to escape.

> It is the policy of the Bureau of Land Management to allow the safe use of firearms on public lands as long as such activity is permitted by federal, state, and local laws. On public lands in Arizona there are no designated target shooting sites managed by the BLM. Shooting is strictly prohibited in some areas due to high public use and resource concerns. Prohibited areas include all developed recreation sites and other areas where posted. Specific areas are listed below. You are generally allowed to target shoot on all other BLM managed public lands, as long as you clean up your targets, shell casings, and trash.

However CA has many jobs, which does appeal to me.
Fucks sake why is it so hard.
>Australia is perfect aside from leftists and no gunz
>CA is Australia v2 with more leftists and slight more guns
>Texas is good except for no beaches
>same with Nevada, Arizona
>Wyoming is mint except for jobs
>nowhere else in the world is acceptable
End my suffering
>>
>>29407495

I don't see how you could ever consider WY, NV, or AZ. I assume you want to be near beaches because you love to surf, which would be impossible in any of those. And I don't think the Gulf Coast gets good waves either.

But if you're in tech, Charlotte, NC is a growth city for that industry these days. And over there you get the Atlantic and Appalachian skiing, albeit neither is as good as their western counterparts.

Anyway, I understand your Californian feel. Except that I was born and raised on Nogunz Island, and spent years in Melbourne besides, so I can be happy in CA.

With all that said, if aren't concerned with surfing, why wouldn't you just try Washington? That fulfills all your other criteria.
>>
>>29408122
WY appeals because I like snow. I'm sort of thinking that nothing will directly compare to where I am now (Sydney) so if I go something totally different it might be alright.

NV and AZ appeal because there's so much freedom. I'm also big into cars and they've got cheers laws for that too

They also just appeal to me more. Can't describe why.

Florida gets an unfair bad rap. I visit there at least 2 or 3 times a year and fucking love it every time I go.

But I'd rather stay here in Nashville

That reminds me of a related question I've been having.

Does the stereotypical American small town (filled with hard working, God fearing, patriotic good ol'boys)(where you can actually see the stars at night, where everyone knows everyone, where you don't have to worry about locking your doors, where every other pickup has a loaded shotgun hanging from the window) that is regularly romanticized by country music actually exist or is that just a fantasy?

>because I'd like to live there if it does. When you've lived in NY your whole life, you can forget what the rest of the country is like. That's why I love taking trips to PA or VA or anywhere outside of my home state.

Eh, it's not that bad. Most Mexicans down south are pretty based when it comes to gun laws, and the Second Amendment. It's the illegals on par with dindus for crime you need to watch out for. Our liberals aren't too bad either. Sure, Austin has a ton of whiny fucks there, but they don't do anything crazy compared to other liberal infested cities, and there's a ton of 2A support to counter their bullshit. If there's anything I like to bitch about living in South Texas, it's the goddamn humidity combined with the heat.

Illinois should be green or at least yellow.
We have shall issue conceal carry and no limits on mags.
The few cities that enacted capacity laws and banned salty weapons don't even attempt to enforce them so it's all smoke and mirrors.
I lived in Chicago for years and in Cook County even longer and owned every weapon I wanted. ARs AKs semi auto handguns ... whatever.
>>
>>29393769
Washington isn't even that bad, the only restrictions are on short barrels or cut stocks, concealed carry, and getting handguns you need to be 21+. Suppressors and Short barrels need permits and there's no high capacity mag ban and assault weapons ban. Along with this the landscape is amazing for forests to mountains to valleys to hills. The only problem you'd ever get is the liberals on the west coast.
>>
>>29412622
Along with this the living depends on the schools.
>>
I go to uni for mechanical engineering in CA and want to move to a free state once I graduate. Ideally I want to design firearms, but any engineering-related job would be fine. Is Texas a good combination of good gun laws and growing industry? I've also considered Idaho and other "flyovers" but I want to make sure I can get a job.

Unless you're one of those everyone should OC ARs and AKs no matter what their criminal history is.

Illinois has done more to reverse shitty laws that any other state, granted we let all those shitty laws come to pass in the first place but hey whatever.

>means that counties and municipalities can pull their own bullshit.
The laws are unenforceable thus meaningless. There is only one gunstore that refuses to sell weapons and accessories to cook county residents. Like I said before I lived there and had semi automatic everything and any magazine I wanted.
Even in the peoples republic of cook county no one has even been charged or tried before a judge for any of their retarded gun laws or accessory bans because they are just that unconstitutional. They are there to please the commie voters and nothing else. No one who used a handgun bought after Jane Byrnes hand gun ban was ever charged ....is this sinking into your mumb little mind anon.

>>
>>29413437
I know, that's why it's so surprising it has such lax gun laws.
>>
>>29413487
The main reason their fun laws are so good is that the people who invented Vermont were less retarded than the people in other states, so their state constitution actually lays out the individual right to bear arms for defense quite explicitly. Essentially, the granola-munchers can't touch it. They can, however, direct their energies at liberalizing (in the modern, shitty sense of the word) everything else about their state, and as far as I know they're doing a pretty good job of it.
>>
>>29413470
>every single online retailer.
I bought ammo online all the time when I lived in cook county and so did many of my friends. We had to pick it up in person from the nearest hub and would often get a meet and greet from a state cop. The staties laughed about it and other than having to pick it up no one gave a fuck.
I bought lots of accessories online so again you don't know what you speak of fucktard.

No mag restrictions no awb no private sale restrictions. We do have a to when buying and "assault weapon" (any semiauto rifle that comes with a mag over 20 rounds) from a dealer provide 3 forms of ID which is dumb but you can still freely buy them from private sales and such those are the only things I can think of

WV is nice if you don't mind living 10 years less due to air pollution. Nevada is good if you don't mind the heat, people and the devil living in literally all the abandoned mine shafts. PA is top tier for me, cheap land and lots of it, gun laws are just enough for the Philadelphia dindus.

NC here
I've seen open carry a few times
CC is only for handguns (doesn't include knives, batons, etc)
Long guns can be purchased without a permit. Person to person transfer of long guns doesn't even require a background check.
Pistol purchase permits are required, they are acquired through the local sheriff's office. (Fill out a form, wait a week, pick up 1 or 2 permits for $5 each. Permits are good for 5 years)
CCW permit requires a class (8 hour, fire 30 rounds @ 3, 5, and, 7 yards, class price ranges from $40 to 100.) Then you have to pay the sheriff $90 for background check that takes 60-90 days and get fingerprinted. Permit is good for 5 years and can be used in the place of a purchase permit.
Suppressors are allowed with tax stamp
Castle doctrine extends beyond home to vehicle, and even at work.

That's off the top of my head, if anyone knows better then speak up
