Losing a leg in general sucks ass, but if it's below the knee it's not as bad as it could have been. I'd imagine that prosthetics for that don't have to be nearly as complex as a prosthetic for say a hand. I'd imagine It's basically some tubing, three joints, and a way to keep it on the stump, but I don't know much about it myself so I'm not 100% sure.

And yes, it depends on the house structure whether or not that damage was at all significant, which can be easily assessed. A couple of beams in the roof over where they demolished and it would have been absolutely fine. Notice it still didn't collapse after all the explosions above, but he didn't come out until he was out of the house anyway.
