So I just got my four TN Arms lowers in today, picked up a lower parts kit to get one started as well. Here's how its gone so far
>I need an extra detent pin and spring for when I put the stock on (first set shot off while putting in the pivot pin)
>roll pins go in easily, but dont come out
>polymer scratches/chips very easily
>the trigger area is "caved in"/squeezed slightly on all of them, which makes putting the trigger together a pain in the ass
>the floor of the trigger area might not be level, since i had to hammer in the safety switch due to the back of the trigger itself being in the way by about a millimeter.
>the section the grip screws into is too thick, and require either sanding, or a hammer
whoever told me to get these is probably a massive faggot.
So, whats a cheap mid or rifle length upper I can slap on here to complete this poorfag AR? would it be cheaper to buy a pre-assembled upper, or do everything myself?
Whats the difference between Magpul's "mil-spec" and "commercial-spec"?
And lastly, bare rails on an upper looks like shit to me, is there something out there designed to cover those specifically, that isn't an optic or m16 style rear sight? I was thinking something rounded/triangular would work best.

I like it, it's really comfortable to hold.
Mine's the 13.5" version,which means the rail is 13.5", and the bottom of the handguard is 15".
Really my only gripe is that with the barrel nut it's ~19.7oz which is pretty heavy compared to what's out there now,but if you consider how thick the aluminum needs to be to make those finger notches it makes sense.

There are some obvious differences in the dimension of .223/5.56 cases and chambers, but I'm slowly concluding that the only appreciable difference is in the throat or leade - basically the .223 chamber is tighter and shorter to preclude any 'jump' of the bullet from the chamber to the rifling
So I'm pretty sure this is the only factor that could influence accuracy. I'm actually trying to find time today to go test these two different rounds side by side. Speaking of, the pic shows the .223 round is seated slightly lower, but the brass is much cleaner (less powder burn?)
If it goes well, I might slowly accept buying 55 grain .223 if I can't get M193. They're both ~37cpr wherever I find them so I opt for the mil ammo when I can
