I really like the circle dot. It's why I got the Holosun to begin with. plus you can turn off the circle and just have the dot if you want.

If Aimpoint made a circle dot model, I'd be all over it. When I get this SBR built, I'll probably put a M4 on it, but man will I miss that 65 moa ring.

I can't personally speak for long term durability, but I've seen my fair share of Holosun failures online. The same can't ve said about Aimpoint. I think it comes down to quality control. With Holosun, you should get a good optic but there's a chance you might get a lemon. With Aimpoint, you're basically guaranteed a quality optic.

Also their glass s nicer, but that doesn't matter as much in a RDS compared to a magnified optic.

My moneys should be here any day now, $800 in all. I've decided on the ADM Strike Eagle bundle $429.95, 10 boxes of some Prvi 69 gr BTHPs $99.50. The leaves me $270.55, I had considered a pair of UV-82HPs with extended batter upgrades at $165.36, leaving me $105.19 . What should I get with the difference, +/- a bit. I was also considering the Magpul extended mag release, but I'm just not sure on that. Should I say fuck the radios and get something else? I'm trying to get the best bang for my buck here.

Are you willing to keep a spare extractor assembly (extractor, spring, the little rubber donut that's really only needed for steel) on hand?

How much do you shoot?

How frequently do you clean your rifle?

Are you willing to crawl around on the ground or use a brass catcher to salvage brass?

Locally I can sell most headstamps of .223/5.56 brass for 10 cents each in lots of 200 or more, so shooting factory brass then selling it is almost always cheaper than shooting steel (especially if I buy reman). If I'm willing to tumble, deprime, swage the crimps out of primer pockets, and sort by headstamp I can get anywhere from 11-15 cents per. Since most reman is either LC or Winchester (LE/mil brass) I usually get a premium for it.

Selling the brass at 10cpr yields a net cost to me of ~20cpr after inevitably losing some, a savings of 4 cents over steel and it's higher quality ammo. Different guy but the TRS mount has to be mounted just right. It's soft and deforms easily, and the mounting screws strip very easily. If he tried mounting it the same way you would literally anything better (PA and up) he probably damaged it or stripped one of the crossbolts.

I have decided im getting noveske cover despite known issue with them because i know i posse skills to make them work. I would hand fit it to rail by carving away excessive plastic on locking piece.

I have looked at all covers but they arent wrap around type i like as opposed to thin that strictly cover only the row. I like type that would have area between 9, 6, 3 o clock be covered by having piece from say 6 o clock and 3 oclock meet. You know like magpul type 2 cover for mlok.

Doesnt help that another cover option out there is more expensive and isnt what i wanted. Im tempted to go for g10 or micarta but i prefer plastic for they are better for hand in cold.

The side/long panels are great and lock in pretty firm. The individual panels wiggle a little but still lock in pretty well. The only real issue is that last handstop piece which neither of my two would actually lock in.

The problem isn't that there is excessive plastic but that it won't press down enough to lock in. Mine will fit in the hole but it just doesn't lock. If you look in the picture that you replied to, you can see that the little part behind the handstop is bowed out a bit. That's not because plastic is pushing it away, it's just warped or something. That's why I changed to the set up in >>29298883 It's actually locked in and the little gap doesn't bother me. I could probably make it better if I heated it a bit and tried to bend it in more but I'm too lazy to do that right now.

Flinching is easily overcome with practice on a regular basis and gaining familiarity with the gun by going out and shooting as much as possible.

Me personally i see two possible solution.

Solution one take file to that fuck up bump

Solution two take file to the charging handle notch and make recession in notch almost right in middle so the bump would be cleared.

The second's silly but its for folks who take "make mod to the part not the gun" rule religiously.

Just do first one.

Again you shouldnt cycle ar slowly and expect it work.

Problem could be that your upper is poorly machined inside and have high spot and is arresting carrier. Bad anderson upper i had had that problem.
