Hey Irish /k/ommandos, American here.
Going to Ireland for a week at the end of May.
Anyone want to meet up? Perhaps we can shoot skeet or something. How is the situation there with guns anyway?
I'll be staying in Dundalk but I'll only be free for a couple days during the trip since its a college trip. Doing some media archaeology stuff.

Tbh lad gun ownership is pretty uncommon as far as I can see. Most lads I know only hunt and unfortunately you missed pheasant season by several months so I can't help ye there. Enjoy you're stay and try not to be too much of a plastic paddy.

Yeah, and I guess their history explains why they'd want to be able to defend themselves. I know that some small places like the channel islands and the isle of mann also aren't as restrictive with their firearms policies.

I’m working on the waivers and rules for the meetup. Waivers will be emailed soon, please make sure to bring a signed copy to the registration table when you arrive. My mom, aunt, and aunts boyfriend (hes a state police) will be working as our range officers.
Some of the rules so far – we are still working on the finalized list so bare with us.
1. At sign in, all guns are given to the range officers for safe keeping.
2. When you want to shoot, check out a gun from the range officer table. An RO will escort you to the firing line, and will re-secure your weapon when done shooting.
3. No guns outside of RO control until you leave the property.
4. Keep 3 seconds between shots, NO rapid fire will be permitted.
I look forward to meeting you all. I will be brining s’mores supplies (marshmellow, gram cracker, chocolate bar) so if you want to bring food to share that’s cool. Maybe weeners or homburgs?
