Rate my plate carrier? I'm in the army so sadly my gats and battle belt are back home.
Anyways my plate carrier has
>3 pmags
>leatherman surge
>surefire 6px pro
>3 hsgi double tacos
>Baofeng uv5r (need handmike still)
>hsgi blowout kit with cat tq
>camelback armourback
>mechanix gloves
>1 1911 mag (soon to be glock)
Anyways I still need a set of sapi plates and to put my knife on, but my kit is for the most part done. What do you folks think? Tips and criticism would be greatly appreciated.
>>
>>29282605
not a fan of having those general purpose tools in the "ammo area" but it looks ok
throw another TQ around there somewhere
how well can you reach that radio, and why a knife?
>>
>>29282605
swap one of those double deckers for a x2r taco, and go 2+1 on the pistol magazines.
>>
>>29283145
I have 3x pistol tacos on my battle belt, my philosophy is pistol stuff on the belt, and rifle/immediately accessible tools in the chest area. I do have one other rifle mag on my battle belt, as it is a great spot to grab from if I'm in a position that doesn't allow easy access to my chest ammo. That being said, the pistol mag is just an extra.
>>
>>29282893
>why a knife?
Are you for real?
>>
>>29281499
I've always wondered, who are all these guys in this pic? The only ones I know are McNig and Hitler.
>>
>>29282893
That's probably a good idea, bring the commo to the front, I figured if I have a handmike I really don't need it taking up real estate up front. I want a fixed blade knife up front because of the convenience it offers. whenever I'm in full kit at a field exercise and something needs cut, it's a pain to root around my usually full pockets, or reach to my belt to find my knife.

>>29283419
face it, for most people a fixed blade is of limited usefulness for many situations. he's already got a multitool and that's way more versatile and compact.

>>29283469
simple convenience is a valid reason, it's quicker to deploy. it's annoying to see people throwing big knives on their kit just because it looks cool or they just "feel" they need it without having a specific requirement.

I generally use open top mags, but even with usgi flc pouches I found that ranger plates to not improve my reload speeds or grip on the magazine, but do cost like $6 each and make the magazine a pain in the ass in all non open top pouches, and with open top pouches like i said, they're entirely necessary.

tacos for shit you're rarely accessing like your tool and light is a lot of pointless weight unless you're tactically tightening screws of your nugget in between shots.

Even airshit velcro pouches will save you a lot of weight and outward bulk and hold up well enough for "I don't necessarily want this bouncing in my pocket" shit

>>29281628

Also, I've seen the OneTigris stuff on their ali express page. Looks kinda like cheap crap since it's usually 50 bucks for a "MOLLE VEST TACTICAL VEST AIRSOFT VEST PAINTBALL VEST" that ships from China. I don't have any first hand experience with it though, so maybe I'm being unfairly harsh.

From my understanding it's being used. The TAP rig is a BAE Systems unit which is being made for US Forces. Again, this is from my understanding of what's up with it.

The quality on the webbing is alright and the rig is pretty sturdy, so I like it well enough.

Work in progress. I just started and I'm looking to add:
-Mag pouches (Wilde custom, probably)
-Dump pouch ( haven't chosen yet )
-Radio+pouch+headset (Baofeng UV-B6)
-AR scope (SWFA, I have an aimpoint, but I don't like it that much)
-Maybe a hat??

The reason I chose a flight suit is because it's comfy as fuck, and sufficient in my area. Also, I don't care about rain.

I have fond memories of the great faggot wars of 2053. Grand Emperor Trump finally got tired of seeing too many gay pride parades and start rounding up the faggots into camps.

At first nothing seemed too out of the ordinary, but as time went on... We started noticing rather unsettling things.

To put a long story shortly, all of the faggots and red blooded Americans stood the line. With their gear.

Wow I'm a shitty writer now.

Anyways, I bought one of these gladiator chest rig with bib, since $52 shipped was too much to pass up

only issue is it's only in that nasty army camo, which is not a huge issue since it's still functional, but I didn't know if there was something minor which would make it slightly more aesthetic (like FDE pistol mags on the front molle)

That's not dyed, that's just how ACU looks when you wash it with colored clothes and shitty detergent.

You can dye ACUs to be green or tan. I've dyed some old uniforms green. It comes out sort of ok. The pattern is mostly obliterated and you get something closer to a flat colored garment.

Rus bro, did you ever get your PC?
>>
>>29289435
That's a shitty dye job, then. I've seen people accidentally do that to ACUs by washing them alongside a red shirt. The camo still sucked.

If you pick up ACUs or UCP gear for cheap and want it to look better, dying heavy flat OD or brown is the way to go.

ACUs make shitty innawoods clothes anyway. They are weak and the Velcro on them is cheap and sucks. Uniforms intended to last longer than 6 months are what private owners should be looking for.
>>
>>29289471
I got one of these:
http://www.tacticalassaultgearstore.com/clearance-gear/marine-gladiator-chest-rig-with-bib-army-combat.html

Which was a good deal, just in ACU or whatever the hell army combat camo is. It's perfectly functional, I just didn't know if there was an easy way to make it look slightly less ugly

>>29289236
there's a lot of hype for the MTEK Flux, supposed to be even lighter.
to my knowledge, the airframe is still the only ballistic helmet to feature ventilation which means it's still the best choice for hot climates.
>>
>>29289513
Is there a way to dye it solidly brown? If so, I'm ecstatic, but it seemed from what I read that you have to kind of tweak the colors
>>
>>29289530
I've only done green, not brown, but I basically let it soak in dye about twice as long as the packaging said to and it came out very even. You can still barely tell it has a pattern, but only if you really inspect it.

It might be more noticeable with brown, but honestly it will look ok. Worst case is it ends up looking like dirty, faded MARPAT.

Also, ACU = the uniform. UCP = the camo pattern. I personally don't care, and in the Army we just called it all ACU, but a heads up for your terminology on /k/, because some people are autistic.

no, not worth it. water repellents are more useful in temperate areas where there's less water to deal with. in the tropics it's more important that they are made of quick-drying materials so you can keep your skin clean and dry to avoid getting blisters and infections. same goes socks, underwear (or lack thereof)

Helmets aren't meant to protect against bullets, and they still mostly can't. They're meant to protect against shrapnel and flying debris and also just whacking your head on things.

Ear protection is catching on now that there is adequate ear protection available. electronic muffs that can fit under a helmet, and be hooked up to your radio are pretty useful, but prior to that ear pro was of limited use because being able to hear commands normally was more important than protecting your hearing in the rare moments that there was actual shooting going on.

And god help those poor souls who grew up shooting before ear pro was even used recreationally. I would never have gotten into shooting if I had to put up with that.
>>
>>29295758
plenty of them do, but you dont get issued nice electronic hearing pro. wearing ear pro lessens your situational awareness and most combat communications is done by shouting at people from across a compound. electronic ear pro is often in the way when trying to get a cheek weld and it takes batteries so it gets in the way, the majority of soldiers don't think about it until they need it and then the make do and stuff cigarette butts in their ears.

I'm in the market for a fanny pack.

Due to my schedule I can only get around to running at night, and the only place nearby to do it is a ghetto ass park. I find it extremely difficult to keep my gun safely holstered while doing sprints (currently run an lc9 in a desantis with a strap over the top, would kydex retain it better?). So I just need something that can hold a small handgun and a water bottle, the more minimalist the better, and it doesn't necessarily have to be "tactical"

Any recs?
>>
>>29298022
Desantis makes a belly band. It safely holds everything from single stack 9's to the G26/G19.

It's just an elastic cummerbund type wrap that velcros to itself. Has a couple elastic pouches for a spare mag, credit card/ID/cash, even your cell phone.

Fanny pack might hold more but the belly band sits MUCH tighter/closer to your body

If you ever get to deploy, you will find that ear pro is worn much less often.

I always wore ear pro, shot recreationally before I enlisted, always wore it in training, always had a set of the Christmas tree ones in my kit/pocket.

Still sitting here enjoying that eeeeeeeeeeee.

Ear pro gets knocked off, falls out, or never makes it into your ears because of the nature of the contact.

a hammer is also ancient, useful tool. that does not mean every team member needs to carry a robust, full-sized mallet to accomplish heavier tasks.
what I meant was if you know specifically that you have bigger job that requires a bigger tool than go ahead and carry it, I am not saying it is wrong or that it doesn't come in handy. I am simply talking about the people who carry something and cannot cite a specific reason and it ends up being dead weight.

Ill add to this. Ear pro is good in theory. They work great at a static range. But the reality is once you start moving they suck. Its good to plop some in before you head out. But they always fall out/restrict hearing to begin with.

>But anon you get the electronic ones hur dur
Yeah you can, and theres nothing wrong with them. But they arent cheap, and they make your ears sweat, and if your like me, you have a pet peeve of having all this stuff hanging everywhre from you. Comfort levels that sucks, and if you patrol for more than a fucking hour youll know comfort is a big deal. And on top of that youll have to carry more batteries. Now im not dispelling them all together, they are certainly good when the situation fits. Now ofcourse youll have to be willing to endure the consequences of not wearing them. Two blown out ear drums, and surgeries, I can tell you that it sucks sure, but Its just the price you have to pay. And like the previous poster said, chances are wearing them or not, your ears will get fucked anyway.

There are options aside from electronic earpro. I personally didn't like the feel of earmuffs either, but a lifetime of EEEEEEEE just isn't worth it. some $15 Surefires lasted me just fine.

The machismo surrounding not wearing earpro has to be one of the dumbest ways people prove their toughness.
>>
>>29302321
Like I said there are options beside electronic earpro but Id prefer to not have to take them in and out everytime Im in a whispering convo with a higher up or trying to give/take commands. Trust me its def not smart to not wear earpro. But I dont want to die because I couldnt hear someone, If some dude is screaming a 8 digit grid at me and I hear one number wrong and call it in, i mean that could cause some serious problems. So I agree it isnt smart to not wear them, but id rather live and not see anyone killed and live with the eeeeeeee for te rest of my life.

But yeah if your just some backyard shooter not wearing ear pro than you are a fucking idiot. But if you are in no shit combat? fuck man the eeeeeeee is the LAST of your worries.
>>
>>29302376
>but Id prefer to not have to take them in and out everytime Im in a whispering convo with a higher up or trying to give/take commands.

Those Surefires are active earpro. You can hear conversational volume just fine, say nothing of people yelling.

>If some dude is screaming a 8 digit grid at me and I hear one number wrong and call it in, i mean that could cause some serious problems.

I could say the same thing of trying hear somebody talk right after getting an eardrum blown out.

>But if you are in no shit combat? fuck man the eeeeeeee is the LAST of your worries.

Fuck that. EEEEE is pretty debilitating. I had blood coming out of my ear from a QRF gunfight where I was sans-earpro. Somehow no permanant damage.

It's not a choice of being combat effective vs. not having a lifetime of EEEEE. You can have your cake and eat it too.
>>
>>29302432
>>29302432
Maybe man but not for me. I never had any good experience with ear pro. I think for sure its down to an individual level. Some people can operate with ear pro, some cant. Not much more to it. Personally im okay with my life choices to not wear the ear pro and deal with the EEEEEE and surgeries. Some maybe not okay with that, and thats fine too.
