I find the s&w lock offensive....if they ever remove lock I will definitely own one of the 8-shot models

ALSO! S&W is slowly re-introducing models without locks, namely the 442, but there's a few others too. I think they'll eventually offer most popular models without locks

I like my r8 a lot. Old pic reposted a dozen times now, but csgo made it popular I guess.

It is very accurate, easy to shoot, and all I changed were the grips and some springs.

But it is. When you pay $1,000+ for a gun like this you're literally paying for the company logo and nothing else. It costs the same as a Manurhin MR73 yet has all MIM internals and a softer, case-hardened frame to reduce manufacturing costs.

The Match Champion is a far better value.

I have a match champion and an r8. The r8 is the better gun by a wide margin.

Trigger is better, sights are better, mounting options are better (for a hunting revolver the r8 is great, not many revolvers come with pic rails on the top), balance is better, and because it is as s&w it will hold value better.

Also, priced manurhins lately? Anything other than a beat to shit one is top dollar. They are really nice, but it's like comparing the value of a k31 to a savage axis. They might cost the same, but the surplus or trade in gun is going to cost less.

Also manurhin autocorrect to "manure insurance" on my phone.

Also, being cut for moon clips is a reasonably expensive procedure with a large amount of usefulness. Not that many smiths cut rugers and you'd pay over $200 shipping included to have it done.

If you don't care about moons, cool, but it isn't a common factory option for revolvers and does command a premium. And the r8 has better chamber chamfer in than most factory cut guns I have seen.

Yeah, it's not like people complained about the fixed sight version so hard they improved it with adjustable or anything.

For a match shooting gun, not having adjustable is a liability. .. especially in 357, where gamers will shoot everything from 357 to 38sc in it.
