What kind of AK should I buy?

Within the next month, I'll be in the market for a new gun, and I'm thinking pretty hard about getting an AK-pattern rifle. The two that I'm most interested in are the CA RAS47, which I can pick up at my local Cabela's for around $650, and the CA RH10, which I can find online for about $800.

I really like the aesthetic of the RH10 with the integrated front sight and gas port, but I also like the classic-AK look of the RAS.

What do you guys know about either, and should I maybe consider AKs from elsewhere?

Thanks.

Depends on a lot of things. Is this just a fun gun, or will it be your go-to autoloading rifle?
>>
>>29176666
If I was in the market for a beater AK, the newest wasrs from century are supposedly a big step up from the older guns. I'd steer clear of the RAS series guns, personally. If you want something more than a beater, try to find an arsenal SGL used in good shape somewhere.

Nutn likes the RAS, and he's shot it more than most people ever will.

I basically want it for fun. It's just another gun I'd like to add to my collection.

My boy, Tito! I'll admit that was a pretty ham-fisted sentence, but it's the best way I could get words from my brain to my keyboard.

Then get whichever you think gives the best fun-to-dollar ratio. It doesn't really matter.

Personally, I'd have a hard time justifying spending $700+ on an AK, so I'd get the cheaper option.

That's good to hear. I watched a review of it by Mrgunsngear and it sounds like a solid gun, especially since "authenticity" isn't much of a concern of mine. As fa as looks go, furniture can always be replaced.

Avoid RAS47, cast trunnion. In fact, just avoid CA in general, unless it's a C39V2.

Best AKM's in your price range
>C39V2 like already mentioned
>current production WASR
>DDI

Honestly whatever you buy new is only gonna be ~250$ away from an arsenal, so you might as well just buy an arsenal.
>>
>>29176910
Let me take a guess at who's shot theirs more...

There are literally hundreds of cases on the files and elsewhere of RAS-47 trunnions failing, of the edges of the bolts chipping away, of shit crashing and deforming. Don't buy it just because some autistic airforce vet who worships a stillborn fetus says it's just the best thing since sliced bread.

I love mine. its a 2001. It just goes and goes.

For that price range, you can get a decent milsurp and not something from like..fucking IO or some shit like that.

Got mine for 550 including shipping and FFL. Came with 7 30 round mags
>>
>>29180967
Again, you can't pick them up for 5-600 any more friend. At least not consistently.
>>
>>29180988

Gunbroker. After i got mine, my friend picked one up for about 50$ more with only one mag so im sure i got a decent deal.
What are they going for nowadays street price?
>>
>>29181070
