Just picked up this little Taurus .38 for my wife to keep around the house. Only $200. What are /k/'s thoughts?
Also home defense weaponry thread
I'd probably just my life to a hipoint over a Taurus. You could have gotten a pump shotgun which would be infinitely better for around the same maybe a little more.
Fail

If you shoot someone with it, I doubt they'll enjoy it.

We have 2 12 gauges in our bedroom. The pistol is just a result of disposable income.
>>29140811
I guess it's fine then, but in an emergency go for the shotguns over the Taurus please.
>>29140860
Most definitely. Need to buy a 750 lumen tac light for the Mossberg, when/if I have to use it at night
What's the cheapest wheelgun I could buy in .38spl for HD and potentially CC in the future?
S&W Model 60?
>>29140936
Just get a used model 10
>>29140735
I have the same but with the hammer still. It's been having problems.
> Light primer strikes
> ejector rod won't hardly budge
> spent casings stuck in cylinder
Please help
>>29140978
I'm assuming you keep it well cleaned and lubricated?
>>29141009
Yes after every trip to the range I immediately clean and lube it.
>>29140749
This.

>disposable income
You should really stop wasting your money like that and save up.
>>29141037
My knowledge of revolver mechanics is limited. All I can say is that there are defective parts. For the ejection problem, I would try different ammo and see if the eject better. For the firing pin, I would replace it.

I owe you my life
>>29140735
So you got your wife a shit Taurus to trust her life with and spent only 200 bucks.
Wow what a great hubby
>>29140735
You love your wife so much you got her something that is a piece of shit. You couldn't even get her a glocknade.
>>29141244
Did I say it was the only gun she has? Don't jump to conclusions dipshit
>>29141431
Refer to the above also
Friend brought a taurus .38 snubby to the woods with us. hands it to me, i try to pull the hammer back and it was stiff as shit, so i tried to just pull the trigger and got one shot off. then, the thing fucking jammed. couldn't swing the cylinder out, then when we finally managed to do so the fucking rounds were stuck in the chambers. that was the worst fucking revolver i've ever seen. not even dirty, and lubricated just fine with regular .38's in it. No fucking reason it should have done that.
we also had a ruger .357 and some other .45 revolver, as well as my .44 Remington black powder and they were all shooting flawlessly that day.

I also have a revolver for HD. You can argue about capacity and reloading and youd be right, I think its ok as long as you have access to other guns and can get to them but its better than nothing at all
My dad has one because old fudd and he has arthritis so I got him a performance center smith and Wesson
8 rounds of .357 isn't anything to laugh at

>>29141898
You still bought her a piece of shit you're expecting her to rely on with her wife. Even if it was for fun, you still bought her a piece of shit.
>>29141874
Still bought her shit.dipshit
>>29141874
don't call me a dipshit MOTHERFUCKER
ITT op tries to indirectly murder his wife
Apparently a Taurus .38 isn't worthy to trust one's life with.
>>29141984
I just traded my Taurus snubbie for a Ruger 9E. Looking to make a range trip soon but college is munching up time.

>The pistol is just a result of disposable income.
Home defense or impulse buying. Make up your fucking mind.

Impulsive Self Defense buying

Jesus what a waste of money.
I actually own a Taurus .357 bought after extensive research, never given me any shit

>implying $200 is a lot of money
