Best Target Pistols Anons.

What would you recommend for a center fire target pistol and why?

Why not look at a USP expert? They are pretty decently priced and are very high quality if you are looking for a target gun. For maximum unicorn you could get the Merkle Tuning barrel weight.
>>
>>28927086
Then buy one of those, problem solved. You can't define a price and you throw out a 3k handgun?
For that much money get one custom built. You clearly don't have any experience, why jump into that investment?

nice Anon, will take a look, very interesting with the weighted end.

All target pistols are unicorn status because they are not produced in large numbers.

Get a CZ shadow. Don't get a glock, ignore the dumb memers.
>>
>>28928961
they also all hover in the 1200-2500 range which OP might not be willing to shell, considering how vague his answers were to "why" he wanted a target pistol

honestly I'd say for him to just get a buckmark or some shit, mk||| maybe

Tanfoglio has fine groups but bad reliability.
It's a p.i.t.a.
>>
>>28930844
No more German production of Sig Sauer's Legend versions of the P210- production is moving to Exeter and it will have US "improvements" like a P22X style locking block instead of the locking lugs of the original

I'd doubt it, if he were LSP, he'd have a video of that MTR-8 with the long barrel.

Here's my S&W 2206 .22LR target pistol.
>>
>>28930938
I'm reading up on it.

I doubt I'd order one as soon as they're available but I'd be very interested to handle one to see how they compare to the Swiss.

even if they suck it'll be nice to stock up on new springs.
>>
>>28930992
>even if they suck it'll be nice to stock up on new springs.

Yeah the best I'm hoping for is parts compatibility haha
>>
>>28930849
I've got a couple Unicas, some turn easily, but the ones that don't point downward when the barrel is screwed in tight.
I think it's supposed to be that way.
>>
>>28930877
I've been around that long. All of LSP's guns have videos on his YouTube channel. And none of our guns are identical.
I totally wish I had his collection, tho.

>>
>>28926906
OP if you want a true target pistol, get a quality .22. You will be able to shoot it more, it's cheaper, and it's hard as hell. Unless you reload quality ammo, shooting walmart ammo through your match centerfire defeats the entire purpose of said pistol.

A Sig Trailside should be found for anywhere from 500-1k and will shoot sub 1" groups at 25m.
>>
>>28926978
>The new PPQ-5 looks bad as hell.
What are they changing on it?
>>
>>28931568
>OP if you want a true target pistol, get a quality .22.
thanks, but I already have a nice target .22 in a S&W 422. I want a center fire target pistol because I enjoy shooting defensive calibers more.

LSP, Forgotten Weapons, Jerry Mickulek, and pretty much every big-name Youtuber or gun guy posts on leddit.

Only one who ever posted on here was Dugan. r/guns is the only reddit subthread I find myself going to, because all of said above post there and are active there. Otherwise, that website is trash.
>>
>>28931620
/r/SandersforPresident is pretty good, you should check it out.
>>
>>28931596
Are you going to reload for it?
>>
>>28931650
maybe some day. I already shoot a lot, I'm not new to shooting. l have a nice 'combat' Grayguns Sig but want a target specific full size gun.
>>
>>28927186
For the record, pretty much any off-the-shelf pistol will be very accurate if you hang a pound of steel off the front of it.

Also I recommend getting a full-custom or semi-custom 1911. Look for a smith that can do an AMU-style hardfit. Some of these pistols are capable of true 2MOA accuracy (2", 5-shot, 100yd groups). 1911's hold multiple world records for accuracy, there is literally no other design that can compare.
>b-buh muh hi capasity assault clipz!
Get it built on a double-stack frame. There's a couple manufacturers that make world-class ones.
>>
>>28931689
>2", 5-shot, 100yd groups
wow, I wouldn't have thought they could get that accurate
>>
>>28931672
how well do you shoot your regular handguns?

not a great shot tbqh but I enjoy shooting. pic from last range trip, was only at 18 feet because it is the only line clearly marked at my range, I use it as a control to measure progress.
>>
>>28931704
You'd be surprised at what even run-of-the-mill duty handguns are capable of. The problem is the user, a pistol's sight radius is abysmal. Clamp it in a machine rest/ransom rest and almost all duty guns are capable of sub-3" 5-shot 50m groups.

However, when you couple a super tight 1911's multiple locking points with a world-class trigger (no other design can get as light or crisp with as little takeup or overtravel) and good sights almost every "good" bullseye pistol shooter will shoot better with a 1911.

There's a reason why the overwhelming majority of competition shooters across all disciplines shoot 1911's. NRA bullseye, IDPA, IPSC, USPSA, NRA Combat, all dominated by 1911's.

Also, I can attest to the Unica being accurate as fuck.

Also, Dan Wesson 715 revolvers are great and more accurate than I ever will be. The weight soaks up all of the recoil and I can keep shooting .357Mag all day.

I've never seen a Pardini GT, would love to try one out. Wonder if they are as good as LSP seems to think they are?
>>
>>28935731
well he did say the fit and finish wasn't at the level of the sphinx.
I think he likes it for ergonomics more than anything else.
ergos are also probably the reason he didn't include the P210 on the list, since it tends to give fatasses hammer bite.
>>
>>28936117
He was speaking of the hand assembled and fitted earlier shpinx'es, I'm sure the Pardini is better then the newer SDP's

he did rate it 10th though, seemed very enamored with the ergo's, but yeah he said the build quality was bar none but I got the impression he thought the Pardini was more accurate.

and he rated the Px4 higher.
point is it's just his personal favorites.
Pardini is not necessarily better than any of the others he mentioned, or even some he didn't like the P210

I know it's only his opinion but what else do we have to go on, I haven't seen any other review comparisons of such a nice group of high end pistols? Just because a pistol cost thousands doesn't mean it's better than one that doesn't right?
>>
>>28933927
I said I personally wouldn't buy the German made one - and my reason for that opinion, not objective evidence based fact - is that they're close enough in price they given the choice is stick with the original.

As for the Exeter 210- I'm not one of those faggots who shits on everything they make- I just don't like how they've redesigned the lock up

Ive been dicking around here for close to a decade and thats enough time to be surprised by very little. When i see something thats new to me its usually some new variant of the same old AR or AK. Maybe the other guys just got tired of the repetition
