I live in the area and often go out with donated clothes and jugs of water and simple food like crackers. I leave them at common crossing points or when I run into a group, and give them whatever aid i have on hand, and tell them how to get to the nearest church or friendly aid center. I don't make a career out of it but it's my Christian duty to help the least among us and they're generally all good people.

Why should I travel across 8 states, give up all 3 of my jobs, say goodbye to my family and friends, to guard the border, when I already pay taxes for someone else to do it?

Two sorts of people come across that border. Violent drug runners, and people running away from drug runners backed by a corrupt government. I want that second group of people here. I don't want that first group of people to kill half my family then cut my head off. There's no fight for me there.
