I've been shooting as long as I can remember. My dad has a really heavy .22 that I shot from a bench with his help. I must have been four or five.

My dad got me a bb gun for Christmas when I was six. I shot the thing every single day in our backyard. He'd come out and compete with me, taking turns with the bb gun.

He gave me my first rifle when I was 12, a .22 caliber plinkster. Recently he gave me his Remington model 700 chambered in .30-06. It has a bent front sight and there's corrosion on the barrel. It won't hold zero. The stock is gouged, scratched, and chipped. Its old. It's the best gun in the world.
>>
When I was 7 or 8

My Browning .22 lever action my grandpa gave to my dad for me when I was born.
>>
>>28897222
7 or 8 years old? Hard to remember stuff from over two decades ago.
It was some kind of 22, a bolt action that handled anything from shorts to long rifle.
The same day they let me(tricked me?) shoot a 12ga, it literally knocked me on my ass the first shot. It hurt, but I took a few more shots because that was so much fun. That was my first taste of recoil.
>>
5 years old.

My father's .22-250 deer rifle. I think it's a Weatherby, but I'm not certain. To this day, it's one of the nicest rifles I've ever fired.
>>
I was 8 i think, went shooting with my uncle for the first time, was this old break action 22.

It was my dad's old .22, it might be a Marlin, I don't remember, its an older rifle, semi auto, the charging nob kinda looks like the one on the SKS and I think its on the left side? Been quite a while since I've held it. I was probably between 7 and 9, don't remember.
>>
it was a single shot .22 short rifle, i was probably 5. My brother said it was just found in the garage in our old house when we moved in. We used to drive out to farm land by the everglades and shoot at gator (totes illegal, now). I wouldn't even know where to begin looking for .22 short ammo nowadays

.410 single-shot break action, while dove hunting. Didn't hit shit with it.

Got upgraded to a 12 gauge pump the next year, hit my bird limit on the first day.

I still have the 12 gauge. Either my brother or my dad has the .410. It doesn't see much action anymore. Someone fucked up the muzzle at some point, and my uncle's solution was to just cut it down a few inches without realizing that by doing so he created an illegal SBS.

Remington 514. It was a bolt action .22 my father and I got when I was around 5 to 8 years old, we're not sure exactly. that was mid to late 1970's.

I will never forget that he made me shoot it first, I had no idea what to expect so that made it very exciting. Shooting with my father is among my very fondest memories.

pic related but from a google search, I still have mine but it's at my fathers house atm.
