Sold the WWI gew98 because I wanted the Gew98(m) for WWII reenacting.

The Yugo rearsenaled Gew98s look just like the S/42G type Gew98(m) used by rear line security units during WWII.

Right now I'm mad that my M1s op rod got rusty while reenacting and now has some surface pitting.

Indeed. I bought a sporterized all matching K98 for $200, got a new stock for $90, then resold it for $700.

I still have the bubba'd stock. Luckily that was the only thing modified during sporterization.

Someone chopped the stock and I picked it up for cheap and slapped a stock on it.

Never fired.
Cleaned the cosmo off and set it on the rack.
Every now and then, I'll pick it up, admire its perfection and set it back down.

The other enfield is the total opposite. Totally wore out barrel, 5 to 10 inch groupings at 100 yards. Pitting on outside of barrel from water getting trapped under the bayonet. Nicks, dents, chips in stock. But, it's a wartime enfield. And the fact that the gun saw so much action to the point that the barrel was shot out is pretty cool.
