The beauty with Cricket though, is that after you've hit your cap, you're just throttled, not charged a billion dollars a MB or outright cut off. It's all unlimited data.

I have ATT and my GF had cricket, we were in Allegheny National Forest on a back country trail about 15 miles from the dirt road we took to get in, I had 4G LTE and she had zero coverage, not even phone.

the thing is that Cricket CONTRACTS to run their phones on the AT&T network because AT&T acquired cricket, and AT&T still runs it like a partially owned subsidiary (probably for tax reasons)

They advertise heavily that its the AT&T network, but what they dont say that coverage will be artificially limited in certain areas where AT&Ts coverage agreements with that areas local telecom supplier doesnt include the AT&T subsidiary

Also the farther away you get from metro/urban areas the less likely you are to have availability to an actual network retailer.

while that may not seem like a big deal, its absolutely crucial if you're having network problems and you rely on your phone for work.

A personal exampe of this is that last month AT&T was having some severe network issues and I was getting dropped calls and couldnt access the internet from my phone while I was mobile. This problem persisted for a good portion of the day and was really setting me back, I saw an AT&T store and went in to bitch, I was taken care of in under 15 minutes and the rep there replaced my sim and hand my phone up and running. The rep showed me a live map of the problem areas and explained exactly what was going on. Granted I could make more sense and gain a little more use from the info than john q average because of my background, but the information was there and available for me to have
