Take New York, California, and even recently Washington for example.

New York started out with a simple AWB similar to that which was passed federally under thr Clinton administration. Then they went further, with a registry, and even more restrictions on the AWB, even tighter mag caps... and then the SAFE Act. Now there's a law, which has quite a large chance to pass being proposed which would limit ammo you could buy to 14 rounds per 3 months. Anti-Gun groups keep saying that this is "one more step to make America a safer place".

California just enacted a law which could have your guns stripped away with no due process.

Washington first passed I-594 which was universal background checks, and now they're facing an assault weapons ban which also has a large chance of passing thanks to Seattle.

Give an inch, and anti-gunners take a mile. We've "compromised" our rights away repeatedly, and we're tired of it.

It's pretty great, I'm a senior in high school and I have an NRA sticker on my car and truck, and frequently wear my NRA jacket or Glock jacket. The butthurt I get from the assistant principal who personally ended our rifle team, and my own guidance counsellor who said that she's afraid of me shooting up the school.

It's not like I go around the school saying I'm going to shoot up the place, I'm an anti-social introvert who hangs out with a bunch of nerds who play DOTA and Warframe.
