I am building an AR and I want a red dot. I was looking at the Vortex Strikefire and the Sparc 2. How are these 2 red dot sights?

I've had one for years.

Get the "red only" illumination model. It's Aimpoint bright.

The red/green is only daylight visible in green.

The Strikefire 1 and 2 are pretty bad actually.

>>

>Strikefire 1 didn't go daylight bright even on highest settings with brand new batteries

Only in red, and only on the Red/Green model. And the green dot was most certainly daylight visible in the South Texas afternoon.

The "red only" Strikefire is labeled for extra brightness, and a daylight visible red dot.
>>
>>28478991

If you want a mini-dot, just get the Primary Arms Advanced Micro.

>>28479004

>>
>>28479016
>>
>>28479004
I sell them for a living.

The Strikefire 1, on both the red/green and red superbright, were so dim you could not see the dot in a store lit with fluorescent lights that had dark carpeting. I've looked through probably 500 of them, swapped to brand new batteries on several, same result.

The Strikefire 2 was a significant upgrade on brightness, and the battery lasts about twice as long as well. Too bad the "4" MOA dot, due to being fuzzy as shit and egg-shaped, is about 9 MOA in practicality.
>>
>>28478836
I've got the sparc 2.

What sold me on it were several videos on youtube of it surviving some serious abuse tests.

Other than that just your typical cco.

Make sure you dont have an astigmatism first. All dots are blurry for me. Also go look at a few first in person. PA has great quality for the price and vortex is decent. I had a strikefire 1 and was impressed although my vision is shit. I gave it to my friend who put it on an AUG and loves it. Also I know that somewhere on the internet is a batch of aimpoints that was a agency sell off so you can probably get one cheap if you look hard enough.
>>
>>28478836
I have a Strikefire 2 and it's pretty deluxe. Kinda tall, and it's relatively basic, but for the money it's cash.

Sparc 2 has a 2MOA dot

You can't go wrong with a vortex sparc or primary arms md ads.

They're the only optics you should ever put on a rifle that isn't a .22 save for the more expensive things like trijicons or aimpoints.

While they're very durable for what they are, they're not as durable as the latter two expensive choices but you should be fine with either vortex or primary. They both have incredibly good customer service.

If you want to save up a bit for something a step above but not $600, wait for a sale on aimpoint pros.

Its probably PA fault contact their CS they will replace your no problem. THEY HAVE GOOD CS VERY GOOD CS.

Zastava is known to ship out countless ak with weak recoil spring and cause carrier peening issue.

Replace your recoil spring asap.

My carrier hasn't been peening, I have heard about this problem.

I bought the optic from Amazon and already got my refund so I'm going to try again. It stayed zeroed though.

Zero was held the both zero adjustment turret still work perfectly. Dot color and brightness adjustment knob still work perfectly.

Before hamma test was performed it was mounted on L1A1 for 500 rounds and worked flawless then on overgassed 16" ar15 for 600rds and few bolt off handheld chink crossbow then basically retired until i performed torture test on it.

>>28482060
Replace your recoil spring regardless.

Whats round count?
>>
>>28482073
I have only put about 600 rounds through it so far. I have an OPAP and it didn't have this issue either. I shoot the PAP more so I should probably just switch springs out until I can be bothered to buy a new one.

Utg have been constantly improving ever since they started.

Especially their later gen chink optics and mount plus American pro stuff.

Although this utg reddot and scope mount for my dad's retired Bushnell ar223 scope is only utg product in my household.

I have kept eye on utg, im impressed with them.

>>28482098
That's exactly why i did it. Although that does nothing to particular one i had. granted handcrossbow i had wasnt powerful or anything . recoil was equivalent to one 380acp one 25acp recoil one forward one rearward. Jesus i fucking hate bow of any kind despite being natural bowman.

But some old man on internet mounted it on magnum revolver and it held up fine slightly different and superior model tho.

No. Buy PA advanced.

Also

>25yds
>rifle caliber
>7.62x39
>out of a pistol

Firstly, you wont see decent group MOA wise due to rifle caliber not going to sleep yet.

Secondary, majority of steel case 7.62x39 ammo are garbage due to them lacking powder charge consistency.

Thirdly, 7.62x39 drop like rock especially worse out of shorter barrel and likely cause alot shooter's error when holding over or under especially with reddot and plain crosshair reticle of scopes.

Vortex is good brand for their scopes not reddot.

Their reddot is dogshit for money due to dogshit battery life their excellent warranty wont do anything because dogshit battery isnt result of manufacturing error but poor design and warranty aint going to fix that. They will send it back and say it work like it should.

Its better to go with PA and sacrifice excellent warranty due to more gained battery life wise and quality of the dot. Pa CS is already very good even if your warranty expired they will take care of you.

Go google PA customer service and click on link to various forum and listen to all those good experiences.

>>28486257
Are you mentally retarded?
>>
>>28488391
false

7.62x39 retains its velocity quite well out of shorter barrels, it is why the Yugoslavian 7.62x39 M92 (10 inch barrel at 675 m/s versus 710 m/s out of an akm) and amd65 were successful designs.
>>
>>28488070
Yes that one.... Is there something I should know about it? Or has no one in the /arg/ ever had one?
>>
>>28488480
You missed my point.

I know 7.62x39 are better out of shorter barrel than another intermediate caliber but that doesnt make my statement about dropping worse due to loss of velocity atop 7.62x39 already bad trajectory a FALSE statement.

10/10 shouldn't even post.

>>28488963

7.62x39 is great for short barreled applications and red dot ranges.

Being "great" in short barrel doesn't stop it from dropping like rock compared to average rifle caliber. Due to excessive drop holding over and under will be required and if he doesnt have hashed reticle he will make errors which preventing him being getting "decent" grouping atop shitty majority of 7.62x39 ammo.

Also he will enjoy multiple jamming problems from shitty 7.62x39 ar15 magazines and bolt lug shearing unless he gotten ahold of lmt bolt that they do few run a year.

7.62x39 IS INDEED A GREAT OUT OF SHOTER BARREL compared TO ANOTHER INTERMEDIATE CALIBER BUT IT JUST STILL DROP TOO GODDAMN MUCH WORSE NOW BECAUSE LESS INITIAL MUZZLE VELOCITY.

this is last attempt to explin to you stuipd akfag.

My point was never that 7.62x39 suck out of shorter barrel just that due to it dropping like rock more hold over or under is required at various range and with reddot thats called for shitty group.
