Really enjoyable series. The only thing that made me cringe was the scene with the ZSU. Not the Trombley bit, thats mad as fuck, but the 23mm ZSU shells just 'popping the tyres' of the humvee.

you know the larger plotpoints already, but you forget the smaller maybe more memorable bits as you proceed, especially with series and books

Fick also wrote a book, One Bullet Away. Also an outstanding read. Rudy was on the same ship as he was on Fick's first deployment (fresh outta OCS, not yet in Recon) and Rudy led workouts on the deck. Fick says his nickname back then was The Associate, but Fick was always a bit professional with it all and tended to stay away from a lot of that. The only person he ever regularly referred to by nickname was a certain Major who was always carrying his Benelli with him everywhere he went, so everyone called him Major Benelli.

Rudy was also in charge of the fitness regime for the cast for the show, and either runs or works at a fitness center. He has his own website that has a fairly detailed story of his life. Seems like a really cool dude, honestly.
