yeah, no. they repelled napolean twice and lost battles to muslims by sheer numbers in the preceeding years. your fighting a fortified island with a standing army that fields artillery, cavalry, infantry, and naval assets.

you lack the manpower, the firepower, and the logistical support to do anything meaningful. what would seizing the fucking throne do? now you have a known position where they can starve you out and burn or bomb you to death.

guerilla warfare doesn't work when you're directly attacking the families of the militiamen and army - if anything, they'll be galvanized to attack you because unlike today, populations were a hell of a lot fucking smaller then.
