Yes and no respectively. Trump is a double agent. Rand Paul is best candidate.
>>
Yes, with very tight contracts and witnessing requirements.

>>28383584
>>28383604
>>28383615

It was legal when the second amendment was written. When did we lose the right to privately resolve our conflicts in peace?
>>
>>28383584
Yes, provided both parties sign a contract in the presence of a public notary

It's stupid as fuck, but then again it would weed out the niggers and trailer trash faster
>>
They never outlawed it in Ohio
>>
>>28383660
>It was legal when the second amendment was written
It was forbidden in almost every proper city.
>>
>>28383759
Maybe within the city itself but IIRC that anon is right and you could still go and have a duel if you wanted too.
>>
>>28383759
Alexander Hamilton thought it was ok to do.
>>
>>28383584
You can still request trial by combat in a civil suit, and duelling is still technically legal in a few states.
>>
>>28386177
It seems like a good mix of open carry and stand your ground. Maybe there's some sort of loophole.
>>
>>28383809

Yes. It should be like live-broadcasted FPS deathmatches, only real. Participants should start out with only a knife, but real weapons would be littered around the arena, but in plain sight. You'd see guys getting stabbed in the dick trying to climb up some jungle gym bullshit trying to get to the loaded shotgun on top and when he finally gets it he uses it to off the dumb nigga running around with a chainsaw if he doesn't trip and fall on it first. And they should be done in vegas so you could bet on who'd win, or at least be the last to die.

I don't see why not. Andrew Jackson used to do it in the backyard of the White House.
>>
>>28386780
Yes let's take it to court instead and arrive at a settlement ripe for taxation

With everybody still mad. Why won't gungrabbers just let men be men?
>>
>>28386780
The right to a legal outlet to settle serious issues with people in a focused way, it could prevent situations where someone shoots their whole family or does a mass shooting because they're mad at one person.

Actually, for service members, it's unlawful and infracts the Article 114 on the Uniformed Code of Military Justice, dueling................the coolest article to be court-martialed for.

A close second is Article 125, UCMJ, sodomy. Nonetheless, you should feel accomplished if you somehow ever get charged for dueling.
>>
If dueling was legal, we would swear in a new president every five minutes, which would rob Americans of a functional government... or, public officials would hire professionals to fight their duels for them. Which would basically be bullying people out of whatever they were dueling over.

So...

The end result is bad.

I'm down. Note that historically dueling pistols were hilariously underpowered and inaccurate, so we'd either have to go back to that or duel at very long ranges. The point is to put yourself at credible risk of death, not to actually make sure that one of the parties is dead.

In WA, they have a dueling clause. If police get involved and you both consent to the duel, they stick around untill someone seriously gets hurt. Its pretty much an insurance thing.

Source: I have been in a duel before, and both officers that responded just sat on the ones hood and watched and laughed. I was not the victor, obviously. Not untill I gave him a cup check at least.
>>
>>28383660
Nope. Dueling was illegal almost everywhere by the 18th century. People still did it however. Kinda like drugs

Rand Paul is the first true American and Constitutionalist to run in a while.

.
His campaign is essentially pretty much "you cunts the constitution exists" and "what if we actually thought about the impacts of policy and legislation beforehand...?" and "lets undo the shit laws that only fuck things up" and "privacy is good, restrained government is good, personal responsibility is good, free market is good", and he is one of about one candidates who actually have legitimate good to go fully formed policies instead of just vague nebulous claims.

Also, term limits for senators, he wants them. Listening to sound bites from his debates and speeches gives me a freedom boner so hard that it shatters the space time continuum, travels back in time to the 1700s, and slaps King George in the face.
>>
>>28389725
He also wants to kill executive order and just give the president the ability to propose bills instead.
The president already gets puppet representatives to do it, so no biggie, and it is a reasonable compromise between extra-constitutional powers/abuse of power and obeying the constitution. It's such a meaningless and weak power that its not as big deal that it's an extra-constitutional power (lesser of two evils and easier to remove later on).

You can go and have a duel right now if the other guy agrees too.

Dumb shit like laws can't stop that
>>
>>28383584
Dueling wasnt ever legal.
Killing somebody in a duel was just less of a crime than outright homicide, akin to manslaughter.

Dueling also typically occurred on provincial bordalsoor areas where jurisdiction and legislation were contested, so if authorities even existed in the area they werent really in a position to enforce such laws.

But yeah.
Dueling wasnt ever legal and where it was usually took to form of less than lethal "first to draw blood wins" type scenarios.
>>
>>28392975
>Dueling wasn't ever legal.

Person being challenged decides on weapons and venue
You both go to a courthouse/notary, and sign a written agreement
Then police escort you to the area of choice and clear it out, then have the two grab their respective gear, and get cracking

I think people would be more respectful to each other. Although no having your second take your place. This would prevent folks from just jumping up and challenging everyone to a duel.

>>28398049

When was the last time trial by combat was allowed? I know a guy a couple months back requested it and got denied

In Washington state iirc, mutual combat is still perfectly legal provided that no bystandards or property are damaged and both participants agree

Technically "trial by combat" is still legal in most states. A few people have tried to invoke it, but the court says no.

Basically how it works, is you, the defendant, claim your innocence and challenge the prosecution to a duel. The rules must be agreed upon IE- pistols at dawn, bare knuckle fight to the death, arm wrestling, jousting et cetera. The prosecution/state can either enter the contest personally or select a "champion" to fight on their behalf. If you win the challenge you are innocent and all charges are dropped.

Also "mutual combat" is a thing in many states too. You can call the police non emergency line and request an officer to supervise the fight. As long as both parties willingly and knowingly enter into a state of combat with eachother, its perfectly legal in many states.

And yes, dueling should absolutely be legal... And televised.
