Anyone ID this or have any idea of an origin?
Made of what feels like cotton/poly, khaki color, odd single button ear flaps.
>>
Green interior.
No stamps, it's seen some hard use. The bill is broken in the middle, sweatband worn, ear flaps are ripped in the middle.
>>
>>28383592
The button has that classic Germanic pebbling, which was also popular in South Africa until 1994. Can't offer much help beyond that.
>>
>>28383618

Yeah I figure post-war, I can't find any wartime German ones that had single button ear flaps. Least on a desert cap.
Might just be commercial/repro.

Ok surpfags, I've got some good news about a tiny side project I've been working on for a few weeks.

A few months ago, I found a pattern that I instantly fell in love with, that being the Romanian urban-test pattern of the classic M1994. I did a little research about this unique version and it was never officially issued, but apparently is still used by cadets in the SRI military/student's academy.

I've finish piecing it together, and it was relatively easy, as it has a very small tessellation size. I've done a drawing that's the correct scale and size of the origional (thanks to some very helpful ebay sellers) and I'm ready to have it printed. I've also found a company that's relatively local to SC and "reasonably" priced, and I'm heading over there next week to select a good fabric and have a sample made, as I figured it would be better to feel the quality in person rather than judge by pictures and descriptions.

The fabric will most likely be nothing special like cordura or some super waterproof rip-stop miracle of science, but more like the original quality of good old surplus, and I don't have the money or time to find a manufacturer and have have jackets/parkas made like Telny did, but I'll rather be making something simple like hats by hand. (Don't worry, I'm plenty competent to make a good quality hat.)

The last two questions I have are: One, would you guys be interested in hats made out of this and two, what pattern/size (some average size, I can't make custom ones for everyone) hat would you guys want them made in? I was thinking the classic M93 style Romanian cap, just for shits and giggles. (Pic related, the hat style, not actual pattern colors)

Submit thoughts please.

That is a sexy pattern. As long as the price wouldn't be high like Telny's jackets were and they are of good quality I'd be down for a 59.

Sportsman's guide occasionally has some at a decent price, used to run a deal for 4 VG condition field shirts for like $20. EBay is your friend here, if you want multiple items (like a shirt and a hat) see if you can get a seller to comine shipping. (Remember, the worst anyone can say is no)

>>
>>28386517
A few threads ago someone else posted this and I almost had a fucking heart attack, but after looking at it for a little while I realized that it wasn't the genuine pattern. It's a little odd to describe, but most of the shapes are angular in the wrong places, and rounded in certain parts that normally would have a sharp(er) bend. Also, the color pallet is off, but that isn't really a reliable giveaway as those can be easily changed in gimp/ps.

Either way, thanks for posting it again, I forgot I grab from the last thread it was in, and if push comes to shove and I can't find a piece to fit in the real pattern, I might be able to snatch something from this. I'm really happy to have a bunch of other surpfags to fall back on for refrence pictures and info, thanks everyone.

Yes, but they might already have a good mix. Here's the fabrics they have to print on, but I can call to ask if they'll do a fabric that isn't listed.\

It's just that seeing the names of these isn't the same as seeing and feeling them irl. I'm going to order a fabric swatch book from them if I need to.

Pffff, I don't know what most of those are. You're on your own with that.
>>
>>28393493
Lol that's what I mean. What did you have yours printed on?
>>
>>28393528
The 10oz cotton canvas. They could print on a 50/50 mix ripstop, but I'd have to ask for it specially and it caused the colours to come out much lighter.
>>
>>28393542
I guess for a hat ripstop isn't that important. Were you satisfied with the 10oz? Or would you have liked something heavier?
>>
>>28393559
The 10oz was just perfect I'd say. Could probably go heavier for headwear. What are you lining it with?
>>
>>28393582
Just some light-ish cotton fabric I have on hand. It's a medium grey, so I figured it would look fine.
>>
>>28393601
Should work fine. I've got a couple of meters of the grey shower-proof ripstop I used for the parka pockets left.
>>
>>28393628
Are you willing to say how much you paid per meter for the karst?
>>
>>28393747
I'm very transparent about what everything cost.
£15/m. Each parka represents 3m of material.
>>
Are there sits where you can get a roll of actual camo cloth? I think it'd be neat to make a stocking out of our favorite camo patterns. It'd og like this
anon why is your new stocking all camoflauged
>j-just hang it up mom
anon it look silly, please hang up your old stocking
>h-hang it up
>>
>>28394227

I've seen Korean fabric on ebay, like turtle shell and noodle. No idea for Rareâ„¢ patterns. I'm sure you can find US patterns and DPM and fleck.
>>
>>28394286
>make camo stocking
>cant find it because its camo

>>
>>28394227
Search on eBay, there's some sellers that have a good selection. I mean, you're going to find a shit ton of like pink blue and orange versions of woodland and a lot of realtree type hunting patterns, but if you look long enough, you'll find actual patterns. I mean you can also jut find ones people have already made
>>
Is it possible to get that 8bit Estonian camo yet?
>>
>>28394286
>>28394344
I just looked and I found a wide variety of patterns with fabric. hell even that are UCP with the brown in it
>>
>>28394393

Our resident Estonianon gets fabric from time to time and makes various caps and lists some of them on ebay, but besides him and very rarely an older/higher level collector selling off part of his collection, it's still very rare.

>>28394413

I like UCP-D better than normal UCP. I wish we adopted it.
>>
>>28391837
I think this is a replacement garment for when issued jackets get fucked up. I've seen a similar looking dark coloured one for the new pattern for sale from a guy who was in the army. My other guess is that it's home guard issued.

can anyone identify this jacket

It's button down with velcro closure at the bottom and an elastic back hem. Name tag velcro on breast. Diamond velcro on right shoulder. Hidden interior storm flap.

Ignore the patch on the left shoulder. I put that there.

The buttons are metal too, kinda neat but they would probably burn during the summer time (if it gets hot there)

No family, it has only begun
But seriously i'm running out of space in my closet right now so I MIGHT be willing to sell a few things or hell even trade. But not the olive drab, you can look but not buy ;)))

Varusteleka said the Norgie AF shirts had a tendency to randomly lose the snaps. I wonder if they got rid of them from quality control? I haven't seen any headwear for them and the trousers are unobtainium.

>You're camo collecting is going too far
My parents said this too me in the beginning. Once I explained that is's a legitimate collection and not just me buying random shit they thought it was cool. Or you could just counter and say "why do you have so many shoes?" and that usually shuts them up.

>Running out of closet space
Why don't you do what Trench did, build a new closet. Then when you fill that, move into your basement.

I gave up on sizes on everything awhile ago.

That Estonian M43 was $20 and is like a 54. Not even a human size.

Cheaper that way I guess. Not limited by availability.

My Overseas cap (>>28395171) a 58. I'm a 59, but a 58 will fit on a good day.

And my M43 cap is a 57 which cuts off circulation in my head but I can still get it on.

Suppose this is the thread to ask in. Going skiing in a month or so and need both a new jacket and pants. Been looking at some different milsurp uniforms as opposed to conventional skiing clothes. Are there any that are actually worth getting (that won't look super autistic/CoD kiddo tier)? Gorkas seem pretty cool, but apparently they get wet and stay wet easily and that's not ideal.
