Yeah, the german army made what is now known as papercraft tank kits to formalise the crew with the enemy tanks. This was done when th russians started to use the kvs and t34 that you couldnt make explode just by looking at them. And at this point in time toy model kits didn't really exist, so cheap paper models where the best option as they where fast and relatively easy to design and make!
