If you want a very light, stretchy softshell I'd suggest the Marmot Estes (There's a hooded version and a high-collar version). I've had one for a couple of years now and I love it. In fact for outdoors wear that's cheaper than Arc'teryx I suggest Marmot products as a whole.

McNig my front plate digs into either my neck or hipbones whenever I lean forward and it's very uncomfortable. this plate is just wide enough to cover my nipples.
I have the top of the plate riding at my collar bone. is this a posture problem, a fitment issue with the plate carrier or is the plate just too long?
>>
>>28313350
You wouldn't happen to be a vietnamese dude named Quang from San Jose would you?

You might want to try lowering the plate or something.
>>
>>28313350
Hmmm... might be a fitting issue. You may need smaller plates. Where in your neck does it dig into? Take a full frontal shot of your PC on your body. As well as a pic of your sister if you would be so kind.

The buttstock mag pouch isn't for reloading quickly. It's just for carrying a mag on a weapon. We had to carry a FORCEPRO mag with us at all times, and instead of having a mag pouch on the hip some guys used the buttstock pouches instead, and when we went out in sector the buttstock mag was the one they loaded in.

Force protection. Its not a brand. It means you have to carry around a gun with at least a mag in case the base is overrun. You cant load the mag because the pogs get upset.

Not trolling. You said previously that you had to carry a FORCEPRO mag at all times, and that some people would use buttstock mag pouch instead of a hip mag pouch. If they have mag pouches on their hip, it gives the impression they aren't wearing a chest rig or whatever.

Solid colors first and foremost. Khakis and a bright colored or plaid shirt. But part of it is also having current-issue gear unless you plan on going full retro, then you should have the gun to match (ALICE gear with an M16A1 etc) to make it work. You should look like a tactical cubicle worker.

I would recommend getting some more dexterous gloves if that bothers you. Or just don't wear gloves at all. There is nothing to knock about not wearing gloves every time you shoot. But I recommend having some on your kit for touching hot or gross shit.

Or if you run a suppressor or AK they are good. You can always shoot an AK with the one forward reaching glove a la Haley.

And this is from light use working on my car occasionally. And i know this isnt just me. Since you cut the fingers off I guess it doesnt matter but still.

You bought the 4X gloves? The only fingers I had off when I did construction were the thumbs and that was so I was able to pick at drill tips or screws. I worked with steel SIP panel which often sliced through the other worker's hands, but there's not even a scratch on these gloves. And being that I worked over 260 hours with them, I'd say that they've held up pretty well. Plus the only nylon is a portion of the back of the glove.

I can't be assed to google the right name, but if you can't find it I will help later. But It would be just a bag that you can unzip with various stowage areas for things to hold rounds, pouches that hold individual rounds, or magazine pouches.

This is two fold, one it keeps all your rounds in a relatively even climate and temperature. Which is for ballistic consistentcy, two it gives you a place to store binos, a mat, all that shooter stuff, ghillie nets, and shit.

The second is if you splurge and buy a nice rifle bag or drag bag you have a way of carrying that around aswell.

>>
>>28318737
Airlight? What, the plate carrier line? I already have a JPC, I don't really need to save too much weight there.

The Airframe is like 2.3 pounds in size medium. That's fucking incredible. It's .2 pounds lighter than a Maritime, at like three hundred dollars less too. I feel like no matter where Ballistic helmets go, 2.3 pounds is ALWAYS going to be light. I shouldn't realistically ever have to replace an Airframe or worry about the next best thing.
>>
>>28318733
I think you replied to the wrong person, but thanks. They haven't made that in forever.

I had a TC-2001 and the AirFrame is noticeably lighter. Not enough of a selling point on its own, but once you start adding NODs, battery packs, earpro, lights and beacons it all adds up.

Both the helmets you mentioned are great options. I liked the AirFrames ability to accept standard padding and have since upgraded it to the Team Wendy Epic Air.(Not shown in this pic) The CamFit system is also preferable in my opinion due to lack of pressure points on your temple from the OpsCore. That said, the FAST can be cranked down tighter if you're going to be hanging some heavy shit off your face. Either helmet would be an upgrade in comfort and serve you well.

I have one of these FMA Aramid Maritimes in AOR1 with a real L2G05 mount.

I kind of bought it because I had enough money to buy a real Maritime, but I didn't want to get buyer's remorse later on.

I like it, it's fun, and it feels solid, but the more I wear it around, the more I realize that I don't really have any need for most of the capabilities that it offers. I am also not really a huge fan of the giant ear cutouts. it literally ends at the top of my fade

I don't really like the OCC Dial system. Granted, this one is fake, but I don't like how it sits on the back of my neck. I can't lift my head upwards comfortably. I don't have this problem with my H-nape equipped MICH helmet.

I feel like buying an Airframe with a TW Camfit and Aero pads would probably be the best thing for me, for actual shooting and advising. I can still put a task light on it, and I can still use my comtacs under it while shooting, it just won't be as roomy as the Maritime.

I also have no intention of selling my Maritime, so the option is always there

The real benefit that it offers is that you can easily remove everything at once if you're running slick for whatever reason.

In the above pic, you could easily attach the contour with velcro, mount the MPLS farther forward and mount the comtacs further back and you would be fine, however, people worry about their contours falling off and whatever, and I could see that being an issue

Squid what do you think about the AVS harness? I have heard various people online claiming that the Rangers didn't like the harness, possibly due to sizing issues.

They claim that the CPC harness is superior, but I have used a CPC and personally hate it, I find it far too cumbersome for any loads short of double radios, water, full mags, and a shit ton of other auxiliary equipment. There's also literally no usable space on the cummerbund as far as molle. This is where the AVS shines in my opinion.

I have a black one in medium. It's great. I like black because I don't look matchy when I wear it under other layers. I was trying to get a grey one also, but that wouldn't look good under Crocodile. Black is universal.

Adding more weight to compensate for weight is retarded. I never got this line of thinking. I'm not going to add a bunch of weights or batteries to my helmet just because it's unbalanced, I'm going to make sensible decisions and place my gear efficiently.
>>
>>28319046
I can't find medium either.

Counterweights are for NODs though.
>>
>>28319029
I understand exactly why it's significant, but see this comment >>28319004 that I also made.

Most of the items people are putting on their helmets are already well established and have established positions, ie, some shit velcroed, some shit on the rail. The unity mount basically just wraps all of it up and makes it one big snag hazard.

>>28319080
Check SKD. That's where I bought mine from. You might just have to wait. Size Medium is great for people who wear a small regular blouse. It comes down over my ass and right over my belt in the front.

Stahp reading Devt6. The gravel agitator who made those claims proceeded to post pictures of an improperly assembled AVS harness which would be apparent to anyone who can read the instruction manual. Apparently some Rangers can't.

In any case, I would acknowledge the CPC being potentially more comfortable in the long term due to the separate shoulder harness. However, you're stuck with it being a CPC and only a CPC.

The AVS on the other hand is infinitely more adaptable and can be configured like a CPC, a JPC, or anywhere in between.

It's Crye's flagship line and is only going to see its expandability increase as time goes on. For me the choice was clear.

I've said it a couple times on DT6, but the internal cummerbund is really what makes the carrier. I joined to sell a bunch of gear a long time ago. Never post there, or anywhere else for that matter except Arfcom.

And I agree the harness is awesome. I have the pouches on my right side (medical, general purpose, suppressor) permanently attached. The pouches that require to be swapped frequently ie. mag pouches for each caliber rifle are weaved through the external cummerbund on my left side. This allows me to quickly swap them out along with the velcro front panel whenever I want to swap between weapons or configurations while retaining the core layout.

What's astounding is how every time I examine the gear or try a new method of achieving something with it, I find some new feature or provision in place for that exact purpose as though Crye had simply thought of literally every conceivable use for it already.

>>28319207

See last statement above. Yes, it's expensive. It's also some of the finest gear available.

>>28319290
Yeah, I agree. Everything fits together like it's just meant to be. There is nothing clumsy or inefficient about the attachment methods. No matter how you want to run it, the AVS will keep up with you.

If you had a Tactical Store which brands and gear would you sell?
>>
>>28319561
Why would you want that?

>>28319532
I am thinking about buying this lower, but the ambi version. How do you like it?

Not bad, just busy. I just noticed one of my rifles looks a bit more like yours now. I'll have to take some pics when I get a chance.

>>28319532

Oh snap. Is oldfag senpai taking over?

>>28319537

It's the bees knees, and that's a factory +2 extension.

Good to hear you are doing alright.

Didn't know he was a fellow milfag, carry on

I've had no issues but lowers are probably the thing I care least about on a rifle. Except for Spike's, I hate Spike's.

>>28319588

Thread looks like an awesome mix of old and new pics.

>>28319606

Thanks, I'll be in the new thread.

Aw man, love these kinds of videos. Hearing impressive people like Pat's stories. You should check out the Joe Rogan podcast if you have the time. Heard his talk with Jocko 3-4 times now.

You need a PTR for each mount. Duh.

What rig is that? I've been looking for something with mag pouches like that and MOLLE on the front, but I'm not really sure what I'm looking for.

This is how much I know about tactical gear: The Army issued me a FLC and I just ordered an AR500 plate carrier.

It's a TAG Marine Gladiator Chest Rig with bib. It has 6 internal mag pouches that fit 30rd 5.56 PMAGs perfectly. The bib has a small pouch that can fit extra snacks or some spare paracord or something. It also has a hydration pouch in the back that fits a 3L bladder. I added the IFAK multi purpose pouch and handgun mag piuch after the fact. Tactical Assault Gear has a website you can get em from. I got mine from Amazon for a bit under $200. I just got it and haven't really tried it out that much yet but so far is say its pretty top tier quality.
