Hello I'm still new to firearms and was wondering what would be the some other poorfag weapons like a Makarov and Tokarev. I was looking into buying a reliable firearm that is not too expensive.

glocks are poorfag tier and pretty reliable as long as not in .40nade caliber

What
>>
>>28302913
and theyre probably the best deal handgun a poorfag can get. im not aware of anything similar in quality for the same price, and most police tradeins come with night sights
>>
no one said P64 yet?
get one OP
cheap, reliable, same round as the makarov, and hollow points are available.
>>
My budget i was looking for is up to at least 500 and the state laws are for missouri
>>
>>28303025
intended purpose

home defense? target shooting? camping? vermin gun?
>>
>>28302861
makarovs are very reliable. just keep in mind that as a poorfag, you need to think ahead of what you're getting and how versatile it can be
>buy a tokarev in 7.62tok because it's cheap and poorfag
>7.62x25 isn't cheap
>you can't cc it for shit and need to end up buying another gun
>>
>>28303042
There's still some cheap 7.62x25 surplus floating around out there. Of course, I wouldn't use it for SD ammo.
>>
Poorfag is another word for someone who can't budget their money.
I get paid fuck all and still own nice guns because I set as much money aside each paycheck as I can afford to while still living comfortably.
>>

>>
thanks i will look into a tokarev. and im also looking into home defense and targetshooting and lastly what are ones considered vermin guns?
>>
>>28303076

Go fuck yourself retard, nobody gives a shot how autistic you are IRL
>>
>>28303081
If you're partial to glocks, a pretty good deal on 17's. Shame the 19's sold out since they're more versatile

http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?groupid=6042&name=LEO+Trade-In+Glock+17+GEN+2+9mm+Pistol

vermin gun? Do you mean varmint?
>>
>>28303081
vermin guns just refer to small shit for killing snakes, rats, etc. typically a .22 or maybe a .38

for home defense and target shooting your best bet is either a cheap pump-action shotgun or a mid-caliber revolver or striker-fired handgun in a common cartridge like 9mm or .38/.357. Milsurp bolt action rifles are a poor choice for home defense due to size, weight, and relative cost of ammo, on top of possible quality issues.

For a decent, cheap striker-fired handgun check out the Smith and Wesson Shield. For revolvers, a police trade-in .38 is very easy to find though you'll want to be careful of the quality.
Can't tell you about shotguns, but a 20g pump from just about any brand should be fine.
>>
>>28303081
What kind of vermin? If it's like rats or gophers you could probably use .22 LR - .22 mag. If it's things like coyotes you'll probably want .223 or something.
>>
Is there anything in a 38 at range. I could use it for gophers around my house.
>>
>>28303093
>"This person is right, but I can't let him make a fool of me on the internet, so I'll insult him like a child!"
What's next, gonna post a pic of your beat to shit nugget to prove that you're not an underage noguns?

Unless you need a gun NOW, there is no excuse to buy mediocre firearms.
>>
I would also like to look into getting a Makarov. My friend has one but i want to get the real Russian one but all i can find is a Bulgarian one. Are they still just as good?
>>
>>28303110
only some lever actions, but those are typically too expensive if you want quality to justify shooting gophers.

Get a cheap 10/22 (Ruger Takedown is pretty good for this) if you need something to kill rodents. Just be aware that .22LR can be a tad hard to find depending on where you live due to ammo scares - this makes it less than optimal for target shooting or plinking though it used to be THE plinking round.
>>
>>28303111
Some people like military surplus firearms. Benefit of them being inexpensive is you can buy a lot of them.
>>
>>28303120
Ok thanks. That helps a bunch
>>
>>28303117
You can't get many Russian-made guns anymore due to import bans in America. Can you give a specific brand or manufacturer of the Tokarev you're looking for?
Toks aren't particularly rare or usually expensive, you can find them in pawnshops or local stores pretty easily, don't bother hunting online too much.
>>
>>28303128
Well I do have the Romanian TTC i was surprised to find that at a pawnshop but since i do like the Tokarev i would like to get one in 9mm due to ammo availability
>>
>>28303123
>owning more than one of the same gun
>"muh history!"
>>
>>28303141
not sure about availability but Zastava produces a 9mm Tokarev for roughly $250. Century Arms International imports them, apparently. Try looking into that.
If you do end up liking what you see, be absolutely sure the firearm you purchase is NOT BUILT BY CENTURY ARMS. Century Arms shits on every gun it builds. They're fine for importing.
>>
If you're a poorfag and only want one firearm to cover as much bases as possible, A used Glock 19 is probably your best bet. Fairly cheap, reliable, plenty of aftermarket parts, suitable for CC, home defense, and not a snappy pain in the ass to practice with at the range.
>>
>>28303149
I think from the history i learned of it i think one could never own to many. especially since they can be chambered in different calibers. But how about the Bulgarian Makarovs i seen them on J&G Sales are they any good?
>>
>>28303149
When did I say it was all of the same gun? There is a lot of European and South American milsurp that is pretty damn cheap.
>>
>>28303156
Ok Zastava got it.
>>
>>28303141
You're looking for the M88A then. It's a new production Tok in 9mm.
>>
>>28303156
I love zastava.
>>
>>28303177
Is there a site that i should check out for it?
>>
>>28303173
I'm glad you've found something you seem to like, though to be honest I don't see much use for a Makarov. Home defense you're probably fine, but you can't do a ton of shooting with it - it's not the most accurate gun and you're largely burning money trying to hit anything at any significant range, and you can't kill animals or innawoods with it.
You didn't say anything about everyday carry or concealed carry, which I could see a Makarov being good for.
>>
>>28303186
>makarov
derrr
*Tokarev
>>
>>28303186
I haven't gotten my concealed carry yet but i thought why not use my tok as my main carry.
>>
>>28303185
Look it up and shop around. Should be around $250 for a new one.
>>
>>28303156
Good think you told me i almost thought about buying an ak from century.
>>
>>28303195
That's fine, from what I hear Tokarevs are pretty popular EDC handguns and you could do much worse than 9mm Hollow Points for self- or home-defense. As long as you're willing to practice drawing, thumbing the safety, reloading, etc you should be all set!

>>28303203
Oh god I hope you weren't seriously considering that, unless you like guns falling apart in your hands.
>>
>>28302861

Buy a second hand .38 revolver or a 22 revolver.

Stay away from euro-trash and slav shit. Nothing worse than having a slav-shit gun and not having a cheap and reliable source of ammo.

And dont give me that milsurp or order it online bullshit. Get a gun where you can go into any wallyworld or gunshop and buy ammo all the time.
>>
>>28303213
>Buy a second hand .38 revolver or a 22 revolver.

I feel you on the .38 revolver, police trade-ins are easy to come by and let you get a babbies first gun you can fuck up that doesn't look like literal garbage
>>
Is Century International Arms the same as Century Arms?
>>
>>28303228
Century Arms International is the importing division of Century Arms, they don't make guns just ship them around.
>>
>>28303233
Ok good by the way what do you think of this
http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/21_1171/products_id/411552921/TISAS+Classic+1911-A1+45ACP+5%22+GI+BLACK would it be worth it?
>>
>>28303213
7.62x54R is super common due to nuggets being dirt cheap for the longest time. All the LGS near me carry some.
>>
>>28303240
Not gonna lie, I know nothing about the market for FuddyFive Nine/Elevens, but I can tell you one thing: If this is your first carry pistol, seriously consider something else.

There are a lot of reasons why:
1. .45ACP is a heavy round and packs a good punch. If you're not already used to handling handgun recoil, it can overpower you and make your accuracy worthless, on top of giving you bad habits that will translate to other firearms.
2. 1911 safeties are basically non-existant. They are NOT drop-safe and are prone to user error and negligent discharge if you're not familiar with operating handguns, particularly with external hammers. This is especially an issue if you ever need to use one under duress or even worse if you lose your grip or drop them.
3: build quality on 1911s is all over the map, as with any popular firearm pattern. I don't know where the cross section of affordable and decent quality sits to be entirely honest.
>>
>>28303276
Alright but if i was getting a 1911, which i would like to in the future, what is a good choice?
>>
>>28303293
I've heard RIA makes good 1911s.
>>
Save your pennies and wait.
Buying cheap shit isn't worth it in the end.
>>
>>28303305
this is what I was going to say, though I'm no expert and am just repeating what I've heard as far as manufacturing quality goes
But yeah, I've heard RIA is pretty good
>>
>>28303310
not true, cheap shit is the best way to learn and if you do fuck up something at least you're not out a couple thousand on top of your hospital build.
>>
>>28303324
...just what exactly do you think we're talking about here?
>>
>>28303329
firearms
>>
>>28303337
I don't think you understand how firearms work.
>>
>>28303342
No, apparently you don't if you think a catastrophic failure of a firearm isn't likely to send someone to a hospital.
>>
Some cheap guns from what i hear like the tok are worth the purchase
>>
>>28303347
Because those are common enough to justify NOT getting something quality, huh.
>>
>>28303355
It's called dark humor, anon.
And if you could actually read you'd have caught the bit where I emphasized that cheap firearms are good learning tools.
Obviously nobody's advising these anons to buy shit we know is going to break into pieces or otherwise be useless, hell there are 2 or 3 blatant posts saying to avoid Century for example.

Excellent. I'm considering one as well and have done a considerable amount of researcn. There are a few cons to it
>Very small: The P64 is a great pocket gun and is similar to the Walther PPK (James Bond) in size. This plays into the second issue
>considerably snappy recoil: The simple blowback design makes the gun accurate, but also comes at a cost of making the recoil from the 9x18 Mak very snappy. and Ive heard that after 50 rounds you'll be done for the day.
> 9x18 isn't all that common: If you're looking for something that is going to be available everywhere or is less than ~25 cents per round, this could be a problem. Athough 9mm Mak was much less effected by the Sandy Vag ammo crisis.

>Double Action pull is god awful: It's 22 pound trigger pull in DA with a fuckhuge creep to boot. The SA is fine though and there are always trigger packs. Same with recoil, spring jobs are not uncommon for this little gun. The heavy DA pull also helps because now you can 6+1 and not worry about having it blast your dick off
>iirc it is NOT drop-proof. Don't quote me on it though.

Overall. it's a good little gun but it does have it's quirks. However, most of them can be fixed/are made up for in other areas. Again, if you're looking for something a little bigger, the P83 is a good choice. j&g has them for 219.99 a pop, and extra mags for 20.00 eacд . Also. the P64s are imported with Target grips on to comply with US imports since they'd be considered a "SaddurdAy Nyte Sbeshal" but the originals are put on again onve they enter the US, so see if theyll include them with the gun as well. They should help you get better accustomed to the gun faster and help you get used to the recoil. Let us know how it works out anon, hope I helped.

Why wouldn't you cc? It's a decent size and strong too. It's reliable and zastava just started making factory new m57 (7.62x25) and m70a(9mm) with built in external safety. A bunch of companies are remaking the tokarev round and soon it'll be just as cheap as 9mm
>>
>>28303076
I agree with you in some regards, but I would argue that "poorfag" should really also describe people who genuinely don't have a disposable income.

So yes, we should definitely budget our money to buy quality, but it'd be better for us to buy an M&P, CZ, or a used Glock, etc, then investing in ammo. I was lucky because I inherited my S&W 3916 and my Makarov, and simply never felt the need to get another handgun (didn't stop me though).

If you don't mind buying ammo online a mak. Is a good choice , nabbed a Russian civi. Version for 260$ , and 450 ( 400 were lve mint green boxes ) rounds along with a bulgy arsenal mak for a lc9spro.

If buying ammo online dosent suit you and want to go into box stores then a M&P , glock , sigs are good to go used as long as you can finger and see how worn it is. Usually around 200-400$ depends on how desperate a person is and if you flash cash down for a trade they usually take the cash.

My first firearm was a Mauser, great for learning marksmanship, I like the kick and it's a better buy than a nugget imo.

Avoid ghettoblasters like most hipoint and other budget firearms. SKSs are great first semi-auto rifles, get one with a chromed bore if you have the chance. Don't try to turn it into an AK W/ after market bs.

I have an H001 I picked up for like $225 new. Haven't had any problems yet with it after around 5-6k rounds of 22lr and shorts.

Super fun gun too, and inexpensive training for my lever actions.
