So does this cartridge have any place in the armory of today's modern citizen?
The 5.7x28 cartridge is designed to defeat body armor, which more and more criminals have access to
The p90 is effective out to 20p yards, which would cover most threats that I might encounter (highway robbery on country road, school shooting, home defense)
The p90 provides a compact package for tight corners/hallways, and with the appropriate outfit can ve concealed. the five-seven allows for a CCW in a variety of outfits

So my major concern is the following scenario
Driving home, 8 pm
30 minutes through 2-lane highways.
2 pickups, each with two people pull up to me. Run me off the road
Trying to kill me for thrills or money, or whatever.
How do I defend myself? 15 rounds of 9mm won't cut it

5.56 Mk262 Mod 1 shits all over any pistol ammunition (and 5.7x28mm has similar wound ballistics to pistol ammunition), if a 10"-12" barrel AR is an option then take that every time. Only take something in a pistol caliber if you can't get something in a rifle caliber with good ammunition and a 10" barrel because below that point rifle ammunition starts making wounds more like pistol ammunition.
