Also mossberg has two ejectors that are user friendly in case you need a replacement and the remington has a single ejector which is more difficult to replace.mossverg has aluminum receiver whereas remington has steel.

I bought a High Standard Flite King Deluxe for $20 today. It was in rough shape but it cleaned up fairly nicely. I think I'm gonna have it drilled and tapped to be the host of my Nydar model 47 shotgun sight. Might cut it down to 18" but idk on that yet

how bad is 12 guage recoil without a rubber buttpad?
i want to shorten the lop on a mossberg but it seems like a pain in the ass to buy and resize a rubber butpad to make it look right afterwards. was thinking of just using a flat piece of wood or metal plate instead
ive shot milsurp ww2 rifles with metal butplates and found them manageable but all the 12guage ive used had rubber or was pgo

Depends what you shoot, but I've put 2 3/4" and 3" bird, buck and low-recoil slug through mine, no problem. Full slug sucks.

IAC 981r I added an ATI heatshield to because...fuck it. Its a $200 shotgun based on the 870 with no chance of ever getting a new barrel. Ghost ring sights were a nice plus though

Does anyone know if mossberg still sells the 14 inch(or 14.5?) fore end assemblies for making the sweet little non-nfa PGO shotgun?

Is there any reason why I should spend $13 for a sling swivel set and $10 for a cheap sling for my Hawk 982?

Are slings even that useful for shotguns?

Canada here. I want a cheap but functional HD shotgun. I have a good hunting shotgun already. What should I look at? I was thinking a Mossy 500 or a Maverick 88, something for only a few hundred bucks. Cylinder bore, largest capacity I can get for the price.
