>>

They go beyond gucci in a bad way, and 90% of the shit on their rifle is pure nonsense:

>two forward assists
>completely custom billet lower but you couldn't make it ambi?
>billet lower but no integrated trigger guard, and the stock trigger guard is so wide that any regular after market one would look stupid as fuck
>HERA arms grips suck
>fixed stock

And that's just the practical stuff. Asthetically, they look like fucking ass or something a kid in middle school would draw during lunch break when he's sitting alone with no friends.

Or Sauron as he was plotting to take over Middle Earth.

Let us know if they ship you a decent product. I might pick up a second or third kit.

On that note, does anybody know if there are any reproduction parts of the M16 prototype. I know Nodak makes an M16 prototype lower and they also make a prototype upper with a trigger charging handle, but I'm coming up blank on the muzzle device, gas block, stock, and grip. I'd really like to do a prototype build, but having a prototype lower/upper but M16A1 furniture seems stupid.

Can you install angled fore grips on AR pistol builds?

Also, I had someone tell me that Fix vs US may be grounds for using a vertical grip on an AR pistol. I'm not going to risk it, but food for thought

Anyone have any opinions on 2A armament?

Top kek at the removing friends meme Toska.

I'm just trying to help but if you actually wanna stop being miserable you have to take steps yourself, like seeing a doctor or reaching out for support.

Look into cognitive behavioral therapy and/or see a doc about antidepressants. You don't have to live like that. Depression works very insidiously and the thought patterns it causes are self reinforcing. Coming out of it was like coming out of a coma for me, felt like I lost so much time. But you can get better, it's not easy but its possible.

Also reminder to /arg/ to stay positive and don't be afraid to seek out help with any mental/emotional problems you have. Better to do that than to breakdown and get committed and lose your funs or killing yourself.

It's annoying when you try to help from a position of experience with depression and get shut down.

AR question, what should I be looking for in terms of price per round on 55gr fmj? Anyone got any good ammo sites? I've never bought ammo online before

So I picked up a PSA complete lower on the cheap during Black Friday. I just got it in and I need to start thinking about an upper now. A shorter pencil barrel with a pinned muzzle device and a light handguard like a KMR or ALG would probably keep things really light, especially if you stayed irons-only or something like an Aimpoint T1/Trijicon MRO/Primary Arms Micro.

I think PSA does 14.7" barrels, which with a pinned standard A2 flash hider come to over the legal 16" requirement. If you can find one in a pencil profile, that'd be pretty damn light.
>>
>>28264984
Yeah, I think I'm certainly going to go with a smaller red dot and no irons. Maybe a Vortex.

I might have an in with someone at Faxon. I know a guy who knows a guy sort of thing so I might be able to pick up something of theirs on the cheap. Never used them so I need to look and see if they do pencil barrels.

Would polymer end up lighter than a KMR or something? Maybe one of those carbon bits but then again, fuck the money for something like that.

>>
>>28265009
Possibly? I'm not sure of the total weight of standard plastic carbine-length handguards, but I've also never seen them used with a low-pro gas block, and the FSB adds a lot of weight compared to a folding BUIS or no irons at all.

How gay would it be to buy an airsoft M203 to put on my retro M16A1 clone?

37mm Cobray launchers look like ass hanging down 5" from the barrel and it's not worth the money, tax-stamp, and registration for what is now essentially a smoke/flare launcher in 40mm ever since chalk rounds got declared as DDs.

I'm building the clone almost strictly as a functioning replica. It's not trying to be a practical rifle.

An alternative I just found in ~2 minutes of googling is a 37mm clone of the M203 made by a company called RDB. Haven't found a whole lot on it, other than it doesn't hang nearly as low as the cobrays and looks a lot closer to the M203.

I only managed to find classified ads for used ones, so it might take some patience to find one, but it'd be a thousand times cooler than an airsoft one.

Yeah the Omega is pretty chunky at 1.56" diameter and the ASR lock ring is just slightly larger than that.

Here is an old pic with the KAK flash can which is 1.36" diameter and 3.25" long, I could see the warden in a similar configuration if it fit.

Those protrusions on the inner diameter of the CASV are just for the screw in mount points for extra rails, if you weren't using them you could grind them down.

Was at the range wiff my AR yesterday, banging the steel at 585 yds (pretty big plate, but still felt good.) bretty gud day. Muscle- bound bro shows up in brand- new riced out Camaro with blinged- out AR. I'm talking burnt bronze, brand name was some cheesy tactical death thing with a skull on it, upper and lower were fancy shapes. Had a gold plated BCG and spiral cut flutes on the barrel. Nikon M223 on top. Guy was nice enough, but I couldn't help but laugh as he tried to zero the scope. Rapid fire to "make groups" when he was all over the dirt berm, when he did adjust his scope he'd just crank on the knobs as far as they'd go. My friend went over to help as best as possible, but he was doing so many things wrong it was for naught. Felt bad, he was a nice enough guy, but it was pretty funny to watch. Definitely had more money than patience or finesse. Kinda hope he takes a basic class or something.

Youd probably be disgusted to know how many people are ok with gun ownership as long as the government doesnt let "people who shouldnt have guns own them". and then can barely define what they mean by that.

Theres alot of people who are ok with "reasonable regulation".

Milspec is milspec, gucci shit works no better but costs 3x as much, the specialty parts are 90% cosmetic and often dont work as advertised.

Anyone have a recommendation for a thin, Keymod or MLOK compatible rail that's less than $150? I don't mind spending more if it's really nice. I just want something to beat on since it'll be a truck gun and be tossed around--I'm putting a flashlight at the 3 o'clock position and possibly a VFG.

So far I'm looking at a an 8 to 9 (maybe 10) inch rail; So far I've looked at the KMR, ALG, and Midwest rails but I'd like to see as many options as I can find first. Sorry, I'm totally new to ARs in general.
>>
>>28266832

AR newb here, I want to build an AR pistol but I have no idea where to start. Obviously I just need to make sure that whatever I order doesn't have a stock on it, and that my FFL dealer isn't a retard.

Everything's a bit overwhelming, where to start? Should I look around for complete uppers and lowers that are on sale?
>>
>>28266854
I guess so

>>28266861
Pick from the three you listed
>>
>>28266832
i think of gucci parts more like diminishing returns. sometimes a gucci part will be 3x the price for a minimal increase in usefulness or performance.
that increase in usefulness/performance might be worth it to you at the increased cost. maybe not.

What's the consensus on ATI Omni lower?

Not as a main weapon, just a panic buy
>>
>>28266832
Milspec doesn't mean it's the best. Milspec just means the bare minimum required by the military. I was reading a study done by the US Army about how they can improve the M4, and in it those doing the study said with the rise of better than milspec ARs in the civilian market, they're looking at the civilian AR market to improve their own weapons.

Milspec is absolutely fine, but saying gucci shit doesn't work any better is stupid. A Geissele SSA is a vast improvement over a standard trigger. Gucci BCGs with stupidly slick coatings can theoretically function much longer than a phosphate BCG even when dry (although 99% of people who buy them won't utilize them fully). The list goes on.

so with the gas port at .125", i only have to open the gas block 10/15 and it ejects at 3* with the h3/xp.
the ejection pattern was also perfect from suppressed to unsuppressed.

the day would have been perfect if only i was able to actually zero my rifle.

Do keep in mind it tends to be expensive--I think some dude got his bolt action stock dipped for $100 something. I'd recommend getting all the parts you want dipped together as a single shipment. Unfortunately you'll have to look around for people that do the dipping (You can also do it yourself at home, check it out on google, though you do need some space), I can't really recommend anyone off the top of my head.

If you do decide to do it, home or not, let us know how it goes, I'm thinking about getting a handguard dipped in flat grey as well as some optics and whatnot. It might be more economical for you to do it yourself and have the film leftover for later if you really love plum furniture.
