What do you carry as your CCW? How do you carry it?

I'm debating between getting a Glock 26 or getting an M&P Shield. Thinking I'll carry appendix style because it seems to be the most comfortable and least obtrusive for me.

I've handed both and like the M&P's feel a lot, but I think I need more experience with both before I can decide.

I think the Glock is attractive because then I could get a Glock 17 and have a full sized version of my CC gun, and be able to have common magazines between them, and my Sub 2000, as well as the multitude of other guns out there that take glockmags.

Also been considering a Glock 43 because I'm a skinny guy.
>>
Haven't fondled the glock. I don't mind the shield except when I've handled it the grip felt like it didn't have enough meat on its bones. But if you like the feel of the shield go with it. I bought a SW Bodyguard because I wear basketball shorts 11 months outta the year

I say Glock 26.
Compatibility = awesome.

If your thinking about the 43.. You may as well get the shield. Extra round, and $100 cheaper.

Also... No mag compatibility... = No 33rd mag reload. The 43 sucks.
>>
>>28253951
I like the Shield a lot and carry it IWB at 3:30. Also a skinny guy and it's easy to conceal. Sometimes carry G19. The 26 would be attractive primarily because of capacity and mag compatibility but I prefer the smaller gun. I agree Shield over G43.
>>
>>28253951

Glock 33 is objectively the best CC out there right now.
>>
>Glock 19 (if you can conceal it)
>Glock 26
>Shield
>Glock 42/43
In that order.
Personally I carry a Glock 26, 4:30-ish position.
If you're planning on appendox carry, you better make sure it's viable for you, otherwise you're gonna be really uncomfortable.
I have like a 21BMI and AIWB is out of the question for me. Even a little bit of gut kills you for AIWB.

Are you gonna suggest .45GAP next? Or will it be .38 Super?
>>

There's literally no reason not to use 9mm.
It's been proven time and again to be on-par with other self defense calibers, and all modern automatic handgun rounds are underpowered so what's it matter?
Hell, even the FBI recently switched back to 9mm. It's equal to other calibers, easier to shoot, and it's cheaper.

>>
I'm skinny as shit and love the shield at 4 o'clock. Just dissappears while I work.
>>
>>28253951
Glock 43 is pretty good
I am getting a 17 as my carry (shoulder)
wife is going with a 43 because I can still fire it
The shield was also on the table but she likes the glock more better.
>>
>What do you carry as your CCW?
Depending on the weather, what I'm wearing, and where I'm going/what I'm doing either a Walther PPS or a Browning Hi Power.
>How do you carry it?
I CC the PPS IWB, and I CC the BHP OWB under a jacket/whatever

S&W bodyguard 380, either in a pocket holster in back left pocket or iwb at 1 o'clock
I'll admit that 380 is marginal but this thing is so small its easier to carry and hide whenever
plus if you look at ammo tests speer gold dot (what i carry) tends to do decent, approaching the shitty 9mm area
>>
>>28255286
In Missouri you can get a concealed carry licence at 19.
>>
Glock 19 aiwb 12 clock. I'm 150 pounds and don't have much of an issue with concealing it, plus I wear black shirts a lot so it helps, plus most people don't pay attention to your stomach crotch area and it's easy to control and keep track of.
>>
Glock 23 iwb at 4 o'clock, getting lionheart lh9mkii soon
>>
>>28255106
OP here
I have a BMI of 18, I wasn't kidding when I said I was a skinny guy, 6ft tall and 134lbs.

I'm not sure if I could conceal a 19 or not, I don't have any experience with concealing a pistol.

I wear fairly baggy clothes, but only because ti's tough to find cloths that are slim enough to fit properly.
>>
MP9 shield IWB at 4 o'clock. I'm 175lbs and wear mostly "fitted/athletic" shirts. I've never had a problem with concealment assuming the shirt is long enough and pants/shorts are at the waist.

with shorter shirts I usually pocket carry a DB9. Not the friendliest pistol but its better than nothing.
>>
>>28255595
Also if you can spring for a Kydex Holster do it. I haven't yet but I've tried one and the draw is much better than leather IMO.

I own a Shield and love it. IWB, or pocket carry it works great, less than an inch thick so printing isn't an issue, and I shoot it almost as well as my P226.

That being said, since you have a sub2k and desire a glock 17, the 26 would make more sense for logistics.
>>
>>28253951
You could also make your commonality case for a m&p9 and a m&p shield

6'2 and 175lbs and I can conceal a g19 appendix style. It's more about dressing around the gun rather than forcing a gun around your dress style... Unless you really want to carry 7 rounds. Only time I carry anything less than 10 is when it's 45acp. Plus do some pushups & pullups all day every day. Squats too.

Or just do what the fat people around the midwest do and just wear those ugly ass hawaiian shirts while you carry your 1911 around.
