So we've all seen MACs torture test of the VP9 by now, which has got me wondering about HK as a whole. Firstly, I'm considering an HK P30sk or P2000sk as a carry gun, and the first thing I notice about these two pistols is that they can be easily had for under $700, similarly to the VP9. Is this lower price an indication of cuts in quality? Take the P30sk for example, in pictures the slide looks like it isn't finished to the same extent as a USP or even the P2000. So is HK quality dropping across the board, or is it still pretty good?

Bumping with example of P30sk slide.
>>
I carry a p2000 with an lem trigger and havent had any issues since i got it in 2008. The only problem ive had is that sometimes the slide wont lock back on the last shot because i inadvertently rest my thumb on the slide release.
>>
They're all just Glock rip offs, but worse

H&K exists for people who want a Glock, but want to feel like a special snowflake

USPC two tone ( .40 S&W) SA/DA AA date code, carried it for the last 3 years no issues aside from recoil spring needed to be changed and it's about due for a new barrel sitting at 8,000 rounds give or take a box.

(Went from 2.3 inch group bench at 25 yards to 3.7 inch bench at 25 yards with gold dot)

Did fine in water, dropped in mud, fine. dirt, fine, carbon, had some ejection issues.

You have a long ways to go before you reach the status of master baiter.

>>28098966

What the hell are you shooting through your gun that you change barrels at 8,000 rounds?
>>
Quality drops as production rises. They started with the mark 23, one of the most dependable, tested and toughest pistols ever made, but also very expensive to make. But every new product derived from it has a cut or concession to quality in the name of saving pennies and affordability until you end up with a vp9.

Anything I can find. I've been rather horrible as a gun owner.

> I just wanna buy new things .
>>
>Buy a cheap HK
>Expect expensive HK quality

VP9fags, everyone.

Do you shoot wolf and tulammo a lot? I'm hoping my barrels will last forever because i reload with cast lead.

Look at the top of the slide, it's smooth.

The brushed look seems to be a design choice, the slide sides are left unfinished intentionally. It's present on all HKs, even USPs, but it's more prominent since the P2000/P30 remodel.

There is a reason the VP9 is $300 less than other HKs though.

Few people will have had a full spectrum of experience with all the guns you mentioned, but from my limited experience (I currently own a USP and have owned, in the past, a VP9, P30L and P30SK), the only important difference between the classic P30 and the P30SK is the grip stippling. Everything else, sans the size, feels the same, including the lackluster trigger pull. The USP (current production, at least) also has the visible milling marks on the exterior of the slide, so I don't think there is any kind of drop in quality as retail price goes down. What I think, instead, is that as they have lost prized government contracts, HK has simply adjusted their prices to match the civilian market's demands, as Colt has recently done.

As a rule (but without practical testing experience), many of the things that broke on MAC's VP9 in the video are done a little more durably on the USP and P2000. The mag releases are smaller and therefore less exposed to being damaged. There are no polymer slide wings. The grips are a single piece so there are no side panels to fall off. Also, the trigger guard on new production USPs looks like the VP9 trigger guard, so it's sturdier now than it's ever been.

I really like my USP's standard LEM trigger, and I have had newbie shooters tell me that they shoot as well with my USP as they shoot a good 1911, whereas they are all over the place with other pistols. I was not crazy about either of the P30's I owned, but then again, I never owned a P30 with an LEM trigger - both were DA/SA. The VP9 had an OK trigger - very over-hyped and not bad, but the PPQ trigger is a tier above it - but the VP9's trigger broke a little far forward in the trigger guard for my taste. All those guns felt much better in the hand than the USP, but ergos aren't everything. The USP compact is a great size for concealed carry and it has enough weight to handle .40S&W very comfortably. I will probably keep the USP forever, whereas I sold all the other models.

Yeah, because it wouldn't be commercially competitive at such a high price in a striker-fired pistol market where "perfection" is already sold for about $500.

Not him and I don't have a dog in the fight, but I can't see the top of the slide in either of those photos, so please fuck off with this low level trolling.

I have a p2000sk V3 and I love it, op. Conceals really well, comfortable, and has really manageable recoil in 9mm

Do you not understand the concept of "top" as it relates to the slide?
>>
>>28099073

That's what I was hoping the reason for the price drops was, just being able to compete better. But ergos is really all the P30sk has to me, other than that I want the P2000sk.

i own an example of most of H&K's firearms. the VP9 is built to a price point to compete on the market; most of their other pistols compete against "higher tier" products.

I feel bad for you having spent all that time in Photoshop trying to prove me wrong, even though you have never owned or handled an HK in your life.

i'm not going to drag out everything from everywhere. pick any 3 you like and i'll make a new "timestamp" for you.

SIG's E2 revamp of their P226 line, largely starting with their pre-E2 Mk 25 pistol. kind of kickstarted a little product war.

Bunch of USMC and Tula, about 500 rds of gold dot, all 180 grain. Tho i'm gonna experiment with the 165 grain and see which I can get on target better.

Remeber it's an !! date stamp, and i've only had it for 3 years, there is no telling how many rounds it had before that, it was fairly well worn before I bought it so that might have something to do with it . Lead might give you a longer life but don't quote me on that as I'm not an expert.
