How does /k/ feel about compact .357 revolvers for CC?

Also any opinions on pic related. I like the compact design buy it looks impossible to grip well.
>>
>>28080127

Revolvers are twice as heavy and reloads take twice as long as a semi auto, which has twice the capacity. Anyone with a modicum of training can put more rounds of 9mm on target faster than .357 mag.
>>
>>28080127
Ive heard the ergos are actually really nice. Only problem is its space magic on the inside too
>>
>>28080127

.357 is shit through a snub nose. You get .357 kick for not that great of an increase in velocity, so just carry it with .38s
>>
>>28080198
I can shoot 6 rounds of .50 bmg in 1 sec and still hit my target. Git gud scrub.

I really liked the Rhino until someone on here pointed out the seam in the longer barreled versions. :(

Not at all, it's one of the most comfortable guns to hold and shoot that I've experienced.

good to know. Not really set on any caliber. I'm most interested in compact and reliable.

I used to carry a 92fs hidden under my muffin top but I've lost 100 lb since then so it's impossible to comfortably conceal
>>
>>28080274
I feel you but the snubnose was the most aesthetically pleasing anyway.

Nice.

.357 starts dropping off real quick under 4". And once you're talking .38's you might as well stick with 9mm.

Also have fun firing a snubby .357 with no ear pro, indoors or not.
>>
>>28080540
>two triggers

For what purpose?
>>
If I had a chiappa rhino I would carry the fuck out of it. Mostly as a back up gun to my Walther PPQ M2. But I would trust my life to just the rhino if I had to. Remember kids 1 is none and 2 is one.

One's for kill, one's for all those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die
>>
>>28080198
if it takes more than six rounds to neutralize your threat, you suck.

also, a revolver and a lever rifle, both in .357, is a recipe for fun. get your cowboy on!
>>
>>28084852
Nicely done.
>>
>>28080127
It's a meatball. Hand was pretty sore after 50 rounds 357 consecutive. Was still pulling. Juice groups in sa.

I have one, I love it, shooting .38 out of it is a lot of fun, as another anon stated .357 starts to hurt after a bit. The hammer is a little tough to cock if you have girl hands, carpal tunnel syndrome or both or if you are a girl (my wife hates shooting the rhino, but she loves the old gp100). It has a smooth double action trigger that doesn't stack, the single action trigger pull is light and crisp, easy to get tight groupings. on a weird not due to the space magic internals (which are not a problem, have you opened a modern revolver?) the "hammer" when cocked goes back into the resting position to be used as a rear sight, the newer ones have a fiber optic red nose sight. overall its one of the better snub revolvers on the market in my opinion due to good ergos and 6 shots of .357 as compared to the standard 5 shot snub revolver. if you are willing to drop between $800 and $900 I say get it.

Just bought a 3-inch SP101. Planning on using Corbon 38+P JHP for CC once I get my license

Might fuck around with 357 if my wrists are feeling like they need to be punished

Also, /k/, I need some advice: is it a smart idea to take a girl who's never shot a gun before to the range and shoot 38's? Is that too much for a beginner? And yes I'm gonna bang her afterwards
>>
>>28086283

>need some advice: is it a smart idea to take a girl who's never shot a gun before to the range and shoot

Teach her the basics before you go the the range (the 4 rules, the range's rules and whatever personal rules you may have). Also ditch the revolver for her first time shooting guns, rent a Ruger Mk III (or similar .22 semi auto) or rent a Glock 19 for her and let her shoot 9mm, trust me on this one, the better she shoots the more fun she will have and the more range trips she will make with you. the only reason I say to ditch the revolver is they can be a little intimidating to people who are not familiar with guns
>>
>>28086320
Solid advice anon. Thanks.
>>
>>28080127
I have a 40DS and in all honesty I could probably CC it. The frame on Rhinos are surprisingly compact. Shit is tight yo.
>>
>>28085012
This.

I would rather not lose my hearing after my first shot. Tinnitus is a cruel mistress .
>>
Wish someone made a .357 mag revolver using the nagant action. So you don't loose velocity from gasses going out the sides before the forcing cone.
>>
>>28086283
>>28086320
Gonna go with the exact opposite desu. Light weight .38's out of a .357 revolver are very easy to shoot. Revolvers are an inherently simple mechanism: put rounds in cylinder, close cylinder, ready to go. Open cylinder and drop out all rounds, it's empty. Those new to guns often find this more intuitive. The longer double action pull can also really help with those who jerk the trigger, or are flinch prone.

That said, a .22 is always the best choice. And if you have a semi-auto 9mm bring that too for options.

>>28087453
You can go single shot with something like a T/C Contender.

That was my initial reasoning behind using 38's, wasn't sure if I was underestimating the flimsiness of the female wrist

IDK what it is about the Contender but I've been jonesing to get a short barrel version in 357 or 44. Pic extremely fucking related
>>
>>28087699
Think a local shop near me has one of those Anon. http://www.djsloanandsportinc.com/
>>
>>28087699
Whenever I finally get into reloading a Contender is a must have. I'd pay good money for a long barrel in .357 Maximum for stupid velocities.

Go for a .38 and load it with +P.
I've lurked around and asked people about how .357 from a snub revolver fares. Just like most people here say it drops off after a certain range, kicks more than it should and produces a huge muzzle flash. Besides, the .38 is a tried and true tested round that packs a bit more umpf! than a 9mm.

It's really a non issue when compared to modern revolvers
