I've had 2 of those for a few years now. work great, if you want to be super picky the mic quality could be a little better.
>>
>>28078655
Those are under $50? I got the L0F and I like them very much and these look just as slim.

Got this for my brother last year to fill out a $50 gift deficit.

I bought a pair of those, first time using them was at a range that does full auto rentals. 9/10 would purchase again Impacts again.

Kek, my grandfather got me the same exact thing last Christmas. It's nice being able to disassemble guns without worrying about stripping out the heads of screws.

bought a couple of these for my nieces/nephews when they started to get into shooting. If they are hesitant to try bigger rounds, i just throw one of these on the rifle and they are good
>>
>>28078866
Just teach them how to shoulder the damn things properly and they'll be fine. I'll never understand why people throw a bitch fit with a few exceptions. When people complain about full rifle calibers... just...
>>
>>28078851
>implying used ones wouldn't be more expensive
>>
>>28078895
because even if a kid learns to shoulder a rifle properly, their shoulder gets sore after a while. I'd rather spend a little money and make them comfortable then them stop liking it because it hurts.

>>28078895
because theyre small children

Eh, that doesn't always work. I have a fused rib on my right side and my shoulder has some slightly different geometry because of it. My nerve is exposed right where a rifle should sit, and without a pad I get a horrendous, shooting pain going through my entire arm because the nerve gets pinched against the bone every time I pull the trigger.
I really fucking wish I didn't need a pad, but anything with a heavy projectile ends my shooting day pretty early.

Is the UV-5R really the best Baofeng or is it just the standard?

Don't really want to shit up the board making my a new thread so I'll ask you, Mr. Clean or anyone else who cares to answer.

I'm just looking for one or two products max to clean a CZ-75 and lost my Break-Free LP during a recent move. Any suggestions? I was thinking of going with Break-Free CLP, though the Hoppe's Elite kit does look tempting.

More /out/ than /k/ but I think having a LifeStraw is nice when going innawoods. $20 on amazon
>>
>>28080417
iirc the Sawyer Mini is better. Similar/same filtration level, but rated for much more water.
>>
>>28079063
So what sort of range do you get on the described settings? Is it a recreational frequency? What types of people use this frequency? What are some other common frequencies?
>>
>>28080166
It's the standard. You can do better and you can do worse, but if you want the same radio that everyone else has (same programming cable, same speaker mic jack, same battery, and same user manual) this is the one.
>>28081351
Range is about 1 or 2 miles in city but can be quite a bit greater if conditions are right. These radios like line of sight, so the greater that is, the greater you range. Frequencies available for use in your area depend on your local laws.
>>
>>28080454
>>28080417
Sawyer mini is much better.
I think it actually filters a little bit better. like 1 micron vs 2 microns or something.
I have a life straw, and it works, but I wish I had gotten a sawyer mini instead.
>>
>>28081652
so how would I find out which frequencies I could use if I wanted to have radio communication with a buddy in town?

Bought a bunch of Pi Zeroes for $5 and will be offering them to plenty people. I already completed the OS image they'll run.

There's a bunch of blocks in place to prevent browsing anything other than /k/, and none of them know what Linux is so they'll never circumvent that, and then there's the complete collection of /k/ approved books on top of a few others of my own choosing.
