That last Bond flick sure had some meme guns in it. VP9, Arsenal AF-1 carbine, and the AF2011 Prismatic Dueller were all prominently featured.

I wish somebody would do this same sort of testing on the P99/PPQ.

Comparing the trigger mechanism of the two I'd expect the Walther to handle the grit a bit better since it's got relatively few places for grit to get bound up.
>>
>>28064265

bumping with polymer masterrace
>>
>>28064673
took a look at my PPQ and there are more voids so maybe it'd handle grit better/could force the grit out of the way
the paddle breaking was kind of surprising but I guess if you were to hit in the right spot (from the bottom up) it would break too
>>
Move aside VP9
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZTRjXD7AVU
>>
>>28064715
Yeah the paddle is a more fragile design than a standard button release since more of the release is exposed to potential damage. To me it's worth the trade off of not having to worry about accidental mag release and personally I find the paddle faster
>>
>>28064768

>accidental mag release

nobody ever has this unless they put on an extended mag release. only manlets with baby hands need extended mag releases
>>
>>28064783
meh... I've heard of it happening, particularly with leather or hybrid holsters. If I were to switch to a gun with a button release I'd probably pick up a full kydex holster (as much as I like my mtac) and call the problem solved.
>>
>>28064847

been carrying a glock 19 for 5 years in OWB leather, OWB kydex, IWB leather, IWB kydex, hybrid holsters, appendix carry, and anywhere from 3-5 oclock and never had it happen. but youve heard of it so it must be true

Dude I'm not saying this shit is common but a paddle mag release does prevent it from happening.

>>
>>28065022
...hey...a heel release is more foolproof than a paddle release....
>>
>>28065011

carrying a revolver eliminates the risk of a mag drop too, but mag drops from holsters dont happen unless youre using shit tier holsters. you dont need to reinvent the wheel i.e. paddle releases because of irrational fears. buy a decent gun and a decent holster instead of defending meme guns
>>
>>28065076
Not defending the VP9 either. I like the USP and the P99 though and they both use paddles without being shit.

I chose the Sig P320 over the two. Still waiting for a good torture test on that gun. The 1000 round torture test yielded good results.
>>
>>28064783
I did this when shooting my friend's HK 45. I wasn't used to .45 recoil at the time, so the palm of my support hand was hitting the release paddle when the gun recoiled.

>>
>>28065380
Well, he preferred the ACR personally, and I don't see anything after the trigger and the price wrong with the tavor. I don't want it to seem like I would defend anything MAC says, but in this case I don't see much of a problem.

The only reason anyone would go with a ACR over a SCAR 16 is ergonomics, I however would recommend everyone stay away from a 5.56 gun that isn't a proven platform (the SCAR 17 is proven, fuck the 16)

>>
>>28065487

>implying SCAR doesnt have excellent ergos
>>
>>28065511
That's actually really good I wasn't aware that a M&P9 could achieve that.

The reason I brought it up is because there were issues with the M&P 9 on release that I remember like they were yesterday because age.
While at the time the M&P 40 ran like a raped ape and the M&P 45 was being tested against every other .45 on the market and coming out on top, only to be matched by the HK45 (or it may have been a USP45)
>>
>>28065561
So does an AR.
5.56 SCAR's are a waste. the SCAR 17 is the epitome of the platform
>>
>>28065624

AR's do have nice ergos, but we were just talking about SCAR vs. ACR

If i had lots of disposable income id get a SCAR but i dont want to spend 3k on a gun so i own an AR
>>
>>28065609
>issues with the M&P 9
There were issues with the twist rate at first. It's pretty interesting to note the M&P was designed around the .40 and 9mm was kinda shoehorned in.

It's kinda widely accepted the Gen4 was superfluous given the pretty flawless record of the Gen3 (having ironed out any hiccups from prior generations). The Gen4 rollout was plagued with ejection issues that glock did a silent recall on.

I've only recently found myself considering buying a glock (despite owning other, much more exciting pistols), but have accepted I'll only settle for a Gen3

>>28068534
The flappy-paddle mag release would probably be fine if it were shorter, beefier, or made out of metal. Unfortunately, on the VP9 it's so long, svelte, and made-of-plastic that it snapping off under rough handling really isn't surprising at all.

If you put a flat steel follower on the mag its the exact same height as a g19 with its mag inserted, and length is already exactly the same. You want a manual safety on a striker fire, but they make one without if you're a suicide.

Gr8 b8 m8.

Many hkfag include myself consider vp9 diseased rejected black sheep.

I personally dont consider vp9 a "H&K"

Glock was never masterrace at any point. Hk usp made sure of that.

Im just glad knowing theres tears on VaPid9faggot's faces.

Vp9 a shit we true h&kfag alway knew so, even sigfag and another non-h&k recognized unmistakable shit smell from vp9.

Vp9 have "shit" written all over it machining mark everywhere silly weaken thinned and extended controls.
>>
>>28073857
>Many hkfag include myself
It doesn't matter, it's branded and sold by H&K. They put their name on this product, and they know full well their reputation is part of the selling point. They chose to make this gun H&K, and it will always be associated with H&K.

M&Ps have had a lot of QC issues recently. A lot of LEs have dumped them in favor of glocks because of that.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-n5_Xuy1HY

Also I'm guessing all of these pistols would have issues with the same mud test. Glock in this has a lot of failures after being thrown in to the mud. The mag release breaking is bad though, it should be at least an aluminum part for how thin it is.
>>
>>28064265
This: >>28074853, I just looked up some other torture test videos and I've already seen a Glock 17, Sig P320, and a Sig P226 fail repeatedly after mud tests. Failing from being submerged in a puddle and the magazine release cracking off from beating on the gun is inexcusable.

Cool, the VP9 is their chepeast handgun and the vitriol in this thread is proof that poorfags are totally buttblasted. With that said the USP shits on any polymer pistol designed.
>carrying a striker fired gun with an open striker channel
>a good idea ever
>glockshitters comparing their trash to the worst HK
Topkek, the VP9 is based on a walther design

Literally can happen to any gun but I pose this question to you. Can you find another mass produced handgun that can take 20k +p rounds?
>>
>>28085170
I'll give you a hint, it won't be a glock.
>>
>>28085131
>FN is squish

Except it's not. It was never an issue with the FNS, which is probably what your poorfag ass will get because its $100 cheaper. The S has a reinforcement lip around the magwell. Supposedly they fixed it on the FNX but I can't confirm, still felt squishy when I handled one in the store. They claimed it was a bad batch of polymer.

If you compare the 2 feature wise glock is a complete shit.
>>
>>28085200

>le exploding glock maymay

there are plenty of guns of all manufacturers that have made it too 100k+ rounds and plenty of the same that have blown up
>>
>>28085143
>the bulkiest compact ever is the best

That shit is hi point tier huge. If you're going to pretend not to be poor at least get the p30 instead of this pinnacle of 90s technology.
>>
>>28085209
+p you dumb nigger
>>
>>28085219

>using +p ever

Why
>>
>>28085209
He said +p which is totally different.
>>28085210
It's not much bigger than my shield, its actually wider than anything else but I Carry this in the winter so that's totally irrelevant. The P30 really isn't much better and they put the safety in a retarded position.
>>
>>28085229
so you can't find a single example of another polymer gun being rated to that many +p??
>>
>>28076408
and not a single safety was posted that day
>>
>>28085219
>>28085236

oh i didnt catch the +p part. what handgun is rated for 20k +p rounds?
>>
>>28085263
Well my USP manual says it is and its rated to and +p or +p+ but I wouldn't count the +p+ , as far as I know there are no standards set for it
>>
>>28085271

+p+ is ridiculous anyways.

always liked the USP, is it any good as a carry gun? bulky as fuck
>>
>>28085286
Yeah it's pointless but nice to know the gun is built proper. It's a fantastic carry gun but its really wide, I also carry a shield and there are differences in length and height but its like double the thickness. I have fairly large hands so it fits perfectly and I point it more naturally than my VP9 which is extremely ergonomic. I also carry the USPc in winter so you can't really tell its bulky. I would recommend it to anyone that can conceal it. Hell even as a range toy it will shit on most of the handguns you'll see at the range. My range buddy has a full size USP 45 and it shoots as good as his DW 1911 which is almost double the cost.
>>
>>28085303

Nice.

I alternate between a Glock 19 and a 43. I'll be in the market for a full size soon, might just get myself a USP. Buddy has one in .40, I like everything about it spare the caliber. Going to have to wait until my bank account recovers from the M39's I just bought though.
>>
>>28065233
this is glorious, thank you
>>
>>28085312
I carried a Glock 19 at one point but sold it because Glock couldn't fix it the three times I sent it in and I was able to fix it easily, but I already knew the problem I wanted them to fix it and they just couldn't figure it out. The USP is amazing and you'll enjoy yours, they shoot so smoothly. I have an M39 as well, 1942 sako wartime stock with bayonet marks and pitting in the magwell that looks like blood from when the Finns captured it because they refinished it, its most definitely seen service but is in great shooting condition

With any guns it all seems to be a "your mileage may vary" thing. People on /k/ largely don't understand that.

I bought a '44 VKT from some dude on armslist. It's in about 80% condition, shoots 182gr amazingly well. Bolt sticks a bit, going to get after it with some metal polish and a microfiber later today. Saw classic firearms has M39's again and bought a VKT hand select. Almost got a Sako but I like the VKT barrel a lot. Hopefully it will be more pristine so I can keep that one largely as a safe queen and shoot the piss out of the one I already have. Any tips on M39 ownership? I've got a Mauser and a bunch of SMLE's but these are my first moist nuggets.
>>
>>28085410
Yeah, that's because much of /k/ is poorfags son hey need extra justification to own what they own. This will be my last post for a few hours

Tips for m39
Paint rear sight with white nail polish and front with another color that is bright
Eezox melts Cosmo for easy winter cleaning
When removing handguard slowly loosen each screw and switch off, don't ever take one screw out without loosening the other otherwise you will split your handguards
Rings around the muzzle end of barrel usuaslly mean it had a bayonet mounted to it
Keep her oiled nicely :)
Finns zeroed their rifles with 200gr so the closest you can get to that the more it will shoot point of aim(theoretically this obviously doesn't apply to all rifles)

Probably can't find a guy who can pole vault with his erect penis either. I'll never shoot 20k out of my carry gun and I'll never shoot +p+ so I doubly don't care. That 20k rds bs is the bar you've set don't presume anyone else cares about your arbitrary rules.
