Hey, /k/,
I'm building a kit right now, and I'm looking at different camos. I think Multicam would be best for my region (pic related). Does anyone have suggestions?
Also, general "what camo do you use" thread.

I have multicam. The desert and forest mix pretty well with the pattern.

Where exactly are you?

Not a hard and fast rule, but the map will get you close.

M90 is great for summertime
>Also, general "what camo do you use" thread.
I'd use reversible street clothes.
Deer don't care what you wear, Hunters shoot blindly at sounds when they don't see safety orange, and your woodland camo doesn't hide your thermal signature or confuse dogs from big gubberment.
In the woods is a meme. But hey, enjoy your woodland camo if that's what you want to spend money on. I'd rather buy more ammo and fun kits like my .460 rowland conversion.

whoops. Pic related is how most of the woods look like here. qt blondes included

News flash: You black trenchcoat, and the reflection from your katana blade will put you at more of a disadvantage than if your were to wear camouflage, playa.

Is that MARPAT up in the Pacific Northwest?
>>28020911
Yeah. Can tell you that it's too dark for our rain forests. The map also ignores the fact that Eastern Oregon and Washington are essentially desert.
I live in rural northern california. Mostly dry dead grassland the color of wheat or slightly lighter shade. Though there is some greenery in some areas.
What camo would you guys recommend? I've been buying alot of Coyote Tan stuff, but I've been considering multicam or desert camo
>>28020933
MARPAT does practically disappear during the winter, however. What would be good during the other season?
>>28020947
True, credit where credit is due.
CADPAT, Greenzone, or ATACS FG.
>>28020944
Multicam or ATACS.
>>28020785
How good is that break? I've been looking to put one on my siaga
>>28021018
Better than the standard AK-74-type brake, but not as effective as the SRVV Jet, which was actually a heavy, poorly made piece of shit.
I'd reccomend it.
Does M90 work well anywhere in north america?
Multicam works pretty well in mid/northern South Carolina
>>28021018
those shields look like a great way to re-direct a bullet to your neck/face.
>>28021189
They're only level 3A and the way they are angled and with the face sheilds it would deflect to the sides.
>>28021018
>that giant ass Maglite duct taped to the barrel

>>28020944
Is that in Sonoma County?
I like Multicam for summer, fall, spring. Woodland BDU's work well in winter. Woodland MARPAT is too dark for up here.
I'd imagine CADPAT would work pretty well too for the grass around here (sonomacountyfag here) in the winter.

Civvie clothes trump camo, usually. In a Red Dawn SHTF type situation, use civvie clothes, until you can get innawoods and bust out actual gear.
The way I look at it, camo won't help you hide from IR or dogs, but it will give you a better chance of not being seen If you are innawoods. "It's better to have it and not need it, then need it and not have it".
Annadel again?
Your basic realtree camo works really, really well in that environment. I played paintball extensively in that area, and plain realtree was the hardest to spot. Tiger stripe, woodland, DPM were all way too dark. Never did get any ASAT to try. Day Desert 6-color worked well.
Illinois here. Any suggestions for the prarie state? Tall grasses everywhere here.
>>28021959
Safeway guy?
I'd imagine ASAT would be too dark too.
Realtree, huh? I may give it a go then.
>>28021981
Maybe Czech splinter? Or some type of realtree?
I think US desert camo (post-chocolate chip) would work well if you took light spray paint and put thin vertical strips on it.
BV Safeway guy again. A friend of mine got one of those flextarn parkas in the more rust-brown pattern, and it worked well as long as you were under the shade of the trees, or in fall, but in bright daylight it "blobbed" just like woodland.
Is the "cold pool" on Spring Creek trail still there? When I was in high school some friends built up a casual dam with some rocks and it was about 4'-5' deep.
Just go to wallmart and buy something in the brown realtree. It works.
I've thought about doing the same thing- what the world needs is a fractal pattern brown to grey brush pattern. I planned on making a stamp out of wood, painting fabric paint on, and then stamping the pattern on, then wash it a few times to fade it.
Southern California here, I wear Italian Vega... Vegi... Italian Vegetable camo and it works like a charm in the brush.
If anything it separates me from the hordes of mouth breathing Multicam or surplus desert Marpat wearers
>>28023403
I wonder how well an Italian Vegetable camo would work in Northern Virginia.
I live in Atlantis what is the best camo for me?
>>28023468
AusNavy camo, skipper.
>>28023485
That camo seems more worthy of a lake or sea.

>Best Camo for your Region
Southern Minnesota here. Woodland will work in everything that isn't urban, until you get into the taller forests to the north. In there I would rock something like Multicam.
Multicam should handle the overall fall season in MN, and obviously snow camo in the winter.
>>28023328
I haven't noticed anything. I'm usually pretty far off trail, though.
>>28023357
I'd like to see this. You should try it out on a drop cloth first.
I just picked up a camelbak and medium pouch from True Value's surplus section today, and painted it (because digital doesn't blend in with fucking anything). I need to redo it with lighter colors.
I'd also like to add some blobs to it.
>>28024305
I always wondered about Snow camo. It's hard because of the contrast between brush/trees and the snow itself. I think the germans seem to have a good one. Lots of white and a little bit of green.
