That depends where you're shooting. If you're indoors at an assigned lane, probably not. If you're shooting outdoors at a private club, where you have more leeway, then it does work like that. Innawoods it really works that way. I've never been told I'm talking up too much space or I can't use the tarp.

I leave my brass, collect my steel. I'm shooting outdoors tho, in an area a lot of people wildcat in, so what brass I leave gets reloaded by someone else.. I grab the steel with an electromagnet I hook up to a car battery and trash it when I get home, just hate leaving shit out.

If I reloaded I'd use a brass catcher.

This happened a couple of months ago. I had a douchebag crawl under me while I was shooting and take my brass. I asked him wtf he was doing and told him to stop. He looked right at me and continued doing it. I told the range instructor and he made the guy give me back my brass. The guy is his nephew so he lets him get away with this. I got my revenge today when I saw the guy there. He looked at me and glared. I moved away and shot a bunch. As I left I saw him run over to where I had been shooting. He dropped to the ground to pick up a couple brass casings I left on purpose(I was shooting with steel). He wasn't paying attention and there was a couple people leaving so I casually walked up and grabbed his Wal-Mart bag full of brass and left.

I can shoot on my own property and 95% of the shooting I do it pistol shooting. I know where my guns eject and a 6'x8' tarp is more than enough to catch spent 9mm brass. If I'm .223 or 5.56 shooting, I have another way to deal with that brass.
