So I work at Gander Mountain, and I sold a Remington 1911 to a tall, very pale man. Throughout the entire exchange, I kept noticing a slight accent coming through every now and then. I eventually worked up the might to ask him where he was from.
Motherfucker tells me Rhodesia. He told me that he got conscripted when he was 18, how he had a Browning Hi-Power and an FN (he specifically did not call it a FAL), and everything else.
I figured this would probably be the only time I would get to ask, so I brought up Ivan and the kebabs. He laughed, and told me he remembered when that whole video was being circulated on bootleg VHS tapes, and how it was pretty much used everywhere as propaganda.
He also brought it up that he still has his FAL (how I couldn't fucking tell you) and that he never gets out to shoot it, and he might even be looking for a buyer.
How much are those even worth on today's market? I currently am sitting on $6,000+ in funds.

If it's actually intact and not a kit a collector might throw a few more 100s at it. I've got to say this is almost certainly bullshit though.
Not a FAL expert, but so many different variations in kit builds and shit that if you aren't either, I would start studying up.
